I can't wait to know exactly what is going on here. The WBC clearly state Dawson needs to fight Diaconu before April. There is a purse bid next week for that fight. How can he fight Johnson with his title on the line then? Makes no sense...

You can blindfold Dawson and tie his left hand behind his back, and he'd still comfortably outpoint Diaconu

    Yep..It's Gemma.:hat

I think most people on this forum who have actually seen Dawson fight think he's got the tools to be a great fighter in the near future BUT there will of course always be some people who disagree (MasterCalzaghe) seems to be one of them.

Sad thing is Hoye would be a problem for Dawson...I know it's a bit easy to discredit Hoye after being KOd by Woods and Diaconu however Hoye isnt much different style wise from Dawson..Dawson is a fresh Champion with plenty of ability...His head will look nice in Diaconus living room:fire Let's just hope Dawson has a good cut man...if he ever decides to fight The Shark...For those of you who say Dawson isn't ducking Diaconu...Your not really looking that deeply into the situation...Dawson chose to fight an old and fading champion in Johnson rather than a young, undefeated, powerful, and intelligent #1 Contender...This is a form of ducking albeit a subtle one..Not taking anything away from Johnson he is the most underrated fighter in the sport period. It just sucks that Diaconu has to wait for a credible fight...why isn't he promoted better..After Dawson signed with Johnson I would expect Diaconu to hunt down another of the champions as they would be an easier victory..Dawson-Diaconu was supposed to be 1 of the championship fights to watch this year..all to sad really:-(

I do agree that Dawson is somewhat overated, but that a gutsy prediction.

Not really recent history has proven that Johnson still has it. As a Dawson fan I'm a bit worried, Johnson with all the hype aside is arguably the top LHW(please people BHop beating him 10 years ago does not matter now)Dawson-Johnson will be a great fight..Both fighters are very skilled, chin is suspect for Dawson, Johnson has great stamina, he's robotic for christsakes..It's the reason I'm buying showtime:good

I guess Dawson Is not all hype. He is taking on a dangerous opponent. The same one Calzaghe pulled out of two fights with...WOW...

Hoye would be a problem for Dawson? Dawson is afraid of Diaconu even though "the shark" was the one who pulled out last September? Johnson is the most underrated fighter in the sport? God damn, you really need to rethink the things you said.

Dawson will stop Johnson late and same goes for Diaconu, except Diaconu will probably get TKO'd faster. Kessler/Calzaghe are going to be Dawson's only real challenges in the near future. Currently at 175, nobody is on Dawson's level. Yes, he has what seems to be a very vulnerable chin, but the chance of someone like Diaconu knocking him out is very small.. especially since he's not even that big of a puncher.

I like Dawson and Diaconu..don't really hate either..I just want a fighter as exciting as Diaconu to get his well deserved shot....To give Dawson as much credit for struggling with Adamek is more than laughable..Now the gentleman on your avatar is different.. he deserves to be feared as much as the Shark does...he just needs his shot...Still I'm a bit baffeled on why you hate/discredit Diaconu and hype Dawson..both have roughly the same quality of opposition so be a hater it ultimatly effects your credibility:goodNot that big of a puncher??? Are you ****ing stoned?? Your obviously stoking the fire so your to be ignored from now on..

One, Dawson dismantled Adamek. He didn't struggle with him. The scores were 118-110, 117-109, and 118-108.

Second, Diaconu pulled out of their fight, and Dawson decided to get a big payday while it existed against a tough former champion and big name. He can't duck someone he signed to fight, who then pulled out. That's wishful thinking at best, revisionist history at worst.

Three, Diaconu has not fought similar competition to Dawson. Harding and Adamek are both better than anyone Diaconu has fought, and Adamek is on an entirely different level than Hoye.

You keep saying others are hating on Diaconu, but it was you who started the naysaying on Dawson in this thread. Sure, speak loudly for Diaconu, fine by me. But lets call a spade a spade. You are exaggerating Diaconu's accomplishments (his freakish power he has been credited with has led to an above average KO ratio, one that is slightly less than Dawson's mind you) and downplaying Dawson's to make your points. If I have factually misrepresented either fighter, show me where.

I'm not hating on Dawson at all..have stated I'm a fan of both..I'm not doubting Dawsons ability, skill, or power...I just feel that Diaconus superior power and better sense of timing and distance coupled with Dawsons suspect chin bodes well for Adrian...Is that unreasonable??Christ I'm not hating already..So Cheers and lets hope this fight happens in the future:good

Unreasonable? No....but I would question why you think that Diaconu has a better sense of timing and distance than a class boxer like Dawson? And how will Diaconu, with average footspeed and average defense make up for the huge height difference and reach difference? He will have to take some pretty tough shots to get on the inside....

And you brought in the word hater....I said you were naysaying (saying he ducked him is a bit much) YOU brought hating into it in another post. I don't call people haters if at all possible. I do hope the fight happens.
