Round 7 Fajardo is catching hooks on his right arm, curled around his body, and hurling in uppercuts on the belt line and overhands into the neck of Rodriguez at short range. Fajardo is walking in with big seafloor-combing lead uppercuts and missiles up top as he slams in close. Rodriguez can't establish a rhythm with his jab, though he is trying. Tit for tat. Fajardo is flicking the jab halfway up from the hip, yanking it back down, and pulling away from Rodriguez's headhunting jab. Fajardo walks Rodriguez into the ropes and lands some chopping rights and left hooks as Rodriguez bends over. Head and body combos by Fajardo, staying atop Rodriguez. Hook and high line drive right hand combos in reply from Rodriguez. Good action, last ten seconds. 10-9 Fajardo 67-66 Fajardo

Fajardo is winging uppercuts jumping in, missing. 10-9 Fajardo 96-94 Fajardo
Not as one-sided as my drunk self thought it was in favor of Fajardo, but at the same time I'm not seeing the comfortable decision for Rodriguez that some reported either. Kind of a middle-ground compromise. Anyway, guess who are rematching a week from tomorrow? :happy In Chihuas' backyard, so don't expect Wallopman to get a decision. (especially where the Mexicans are probably unhappy about the blemish on Francisco's record and looking for a little payback)
The rematch is probably the 2nd best fight this weekend (after Mitchell vs. Estrada) and for those of us in the Western hemisphere is really the only televised "Saturday night action" worth checking out: (SATURDAY) This content is protected 8 rounds - ESPN2 This content is protected 10 rounds - ESPN2 (SATURDAY) This content is protected 10 rounds - GEM This content is protected 12 rounds - PolSat Sport This content is protected 10 rounds - Sky This content is protected 12 rounds - Sky This content is protected 10 rounds - Azteca Quiet week for boxing - good chance for those unfamiliar with the lower weight divisions to have a peek, as either of two scenarios is sure to unfold: Rodriguez comes in trained and ready and puts on a clinic (like he was expected to in a non-title routine tuneup last time...) to avenge the blemish of the draw on his record. OR Fajardo proves last time no fluke and himself just a stylistic nightmare for Chihuas and does just as well (or better) - meaning we get another exciting clash. Either way, it'll be sure to make a convert of anybody for whom flyweights "aren't really their scene". :good
I just got so confused. I was looking for information on the rematch (specifically, betting lines) and came across this headline: http://southflorida.collegefootball...riguez-hopes-to-stop-Fajardo-this-time-555113 ...and did a double-take upon seeing the date - September 2014, which is two months before their first encounter. :blood atsch
I just got done I think Fajardo won as well, damn I might have to change my pick to Wallopman:think That really was a sloppy ass fight.
