You know. . .I actually got Calzaghe. Why? Cuz even at prime RJJ never had a chin and he never had heart nor resilience while under pressure or while losing.

I'd bet on will, conditioning, chin and heart anyday against skill and athelticism any day of the week.

thats fair but its clear neither jones or joe were dumplings. i think joe has the tools (maybe the antiedote) to have given roy trouble.

Dumbass. He KILLED people on the inside in his prime, he was known for it. He also had no problem taking a punch.

Don't feel bad. You're one of many people here who only saw RJJ-Tarver and thinks that makes them a Jones expert.

Then why didn't he ever fight any high quality fighters when they were still high quality? Joe C. knows something you don't. In the US, in his prime, he's a middling top 10 SMW. JC v. Paz is a good fight at smw. JC v. RJJ is an embarassing walkover and a routine defense for RJJ.

not the same caliber but people need to watch bryan brannon, vinny paz and again, the john ruiz fight to see how he handles pressure. he cuts them up, he outpunches them, and he slips and counters them all to ****ing hell.

I still got Calzaghe if only cuz Calzaghe has a lot heart, will and chin and conditioning. While I'm not an RJJ expert and admit he great conditioning, I still think he lacked the other three things: heart, will and chin.

Because he had none. He took heavyweight punches and stood up to them before his decline, he rarely lost a ROUND, no matter how great the competition. You want to talk up JC, fine. Just don't say stupid **** like he's going to compete with RJJ and think nobody's going to notice.

yeah but the key factor is that calzaghe was hard to hit. paz was a lightweight punchbag.

Ok...When Jones and Calzaghe fought...Roy was FAR BEYOND The SPEEDY FIGHTER WE ONCE REMEMBERED...And had already been KTFO by two B- maybe C- fighters.

And Calzaghe got dropped by Jones in their fight. Jones was weak and weary, blinded by a cut and Calzaghe still couldn't finish a FULLY-SHOT, HALF-DEAD Roy Jones.

And you believe that THIS ROY JONES: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDWnMXzgeZo[/ame] will lose to JOE CALZAGHE???

Ok...I am going to give you my Home Address in your Private Message...Because you got to send me some of that **** you're smoking...BECAUSE ITS GOT TO BE "THE BOMB!!!!!"

He cut them up and settled for a points win from the outside when he could. When they pressured him, he settled on the ropes and countered the **** out of them until they backed out themselves and let him resume cutting them to pieces from a distance. He was EXCELLENT with his back on the ropes in his day.
