Did I actually read RJJ/Calzaghe and 'toe to toe' in the same sentence? I think I'm in the wrong movie.

You think a fighter who got knocked down in his prime by a shot RJJ, who was afraid to fight even good fighters in his prime, let alone GREAT ones, is going to beat RJJ who even the worst haters have to admit is one of the best p4p fighters who ever lived, and I'M drunk? lol...

You need to go back to the limey board where you guys allow yourselves to say this kind of crap unchallenged. Where JC is the greatest SMW ever and Hamed crushes Sanchez as long as the fight takes place before the split with Ingle hahaha

1ST of all - brilliant post, made me laugh a lot :D

2ndly, i've watched the amazing roy jones videos (they are amazing as well) but he is not fighting prime joe calzaghe in them).

3rdly i really believe that joe let roy finish that fight out of sheer respect for the man. i totally believe if he wanted, joe could have got that fight stopped on the number of unanswered punches he would have taken.

4thly. calzaghe hit nowhere near as hard as he hit as when he was in his prime.

tell me a fighter who has ever gone toe to toe with joe and come out on top.

joe even dropped his hands and put his head through roys guard in round 3.

**** it, your right, your in the wrong movie.

this is true he was dominated by joe calzaghe from round 2-12. i remember it well but that so was ali by berbick, leonard by camacho and norris and duran by joppy. doesn't really matter to their legacies. and calzaghe couldn't stop him cause he was scared that 1/18 of what roy jones was was still enough to counter him if he went all out

    Ah, No.

The guy above you got it right.

    Somewhere between 7-5 and 9-3.

    In favour of Roy.

to be honest, calzaghe fans are being a little more respectful in this thread (a shock i know) as for the most part they are saying that Joe 1)would have had a good chance and/ or 2)in a tough fight Joe would have won. A lot of Jones fans are saying that RJJ would have destroyed him and embarassed him. RJJ would likely never have destroyed Joe...Calzaghe was the most accomplished 168 pounder of all time.

Hold on...I am going to look at Video of Prime Calzaghe fighting.

Ok...Just finished...:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Damn, I thought I was watching an episode of BENNY HILL!!!

This is why Ricky Hatton and Clinton Woods will Always be more respected than Calzaghe.

They didn't have a problem with coming across the pond to fight the BEST...WHEN THEY WERE AT THEIR BEST!!!

    Hatton:
    Urango
    Collazo
    Castillo
    Mayweather
    Pacquiao

    Woods:
    PRIME Roy Jones
    Glen Johnson (3 times)
    Antonio Tarver
    Tavoris Cloud

Calzaghe won his title in '97 and didn't fight Jones or Hopkins till 11 years later. Do you know HOW MANY TOP-SHELF, ELITE FIGHTERS that were fighting at 160lbs-175lbs from '97-'04? And NONE are on Calzaghe's resume!!!
