The fight never happened sooner, because despite Joe Saying he wanted it, he did NOTHING else to get it. He stayed in Europe at 168, while Roy was in America at 175. Nothing ever changed until 2008.
Well same goes for Jones, as ive said theres blame on both sides, Jones already stating it was too big a risk. Plus Calzaghes promoter held him back, look whats happening in british boxing now , Bellew, Degale, now Burns have left it was the same for Calzaghe, Hatton etc Fisheyes milking and later accusing them
Maybe they were just being too nice to the P4P King and all time great Roy Jones Jr when "calling him out." Perhaps they should have taken a page from Tarver's book, he sure got Roy in the ring, he also was the only one who acted as if he knew he was gonna win, some of these other guys made statements about not minding being second to Roy, or knowing their limitations but could give him a tough fight. But that kind of confidence and disrespect is something those guys didn't have, and in the end, that got his attention so much he did something stupid to drop down and make it happen.:deal
Why does Jones have to drop weight and go to Calzaghe? Roy was the best, it was Joe's job to come to Roy, and he didn't. He explained why as well. Fear of flying, needing the crown jewels, or just out right not wanting tough fights. Who could blame him? Getting his ass kicked and losing his 0? way too much of a risk for Joe.
46-0, winner of 24 world title fights, champ in 2 divisions. WBC WBA WBO IBF SMW doesnt need anything explained away Read the links dummy. Roy knew exactly who he was and there was talk of them meeting in 00/01 time Roy was the one who said he wanted to drop in weight. Read the link I gave where Calzaghe had to beat Woodhall first and then Jones was to be ready at SMW only to change his mind and not want to face Calzaghe Roy was the one who said he wanted to drop in weight. Read the link I gave where Calzaghe had to beat Woodhall first and then Jones was to be ready at SMW only to change his mind and not want to face Calzaghe. Calzaghe agreed to go up also
Be honest, do you really want to go down this road again? Really? Haven't we done it a hundred times? You're little clips and interviews get blown away by just having a peak at his resume. You think those clips prove he pushed for the fight? The only thing they prove is that Joe said he wanted the fight. They don't prove he actually chased him. I have 100% proof that he didn't chase him, that outweighs anything that Joe has ever said. Do you want to see it? It's here. From 96-2008 they didn't even fight in the SAME division! Roy was up at 175 in America, while Joe was mainly in Britain at 168. If he never fought in Roy's country, or his weight class, how hard did he chase him? Ha! He chased him by saying he'd like to fight him, and then by doing NOTHING! We've been doing this for over a year now. Joe called him out after McIntyre and then stayed in Britain at 168 to fight Brewer and Jiminez. I've asked you this question what feels like a thousand times. How was fighting Brewer and Jiminez in Britain at 168, going to get him a big money fight against the worlds best fighter at 175? How????????
I am supposed to believe **** coming out of Frank ******'s mouth? Do you not realize he went on to say some pretty shitty things about Calzaghe as well, that pretty much contradict what he was saying in the article?
Yes he does and yes you have. Everytime you prove him wrong, he leaves the site for a week and then comes back and repeats the same things you've proven wrong. He's trying to see how many times he can get you to repeat yourself. If you want him to stop saying things that aren't true, stop responding to him
Actions speak louder than words, and Joe did nothing action wise.. He only even made few statements that contradict the other statements and actions taken about not wanting Roy.
The same doesn't go for Roy, because he was in a totally different position. The onus was on Joe. I'm not talking about Joe's ability, I'm talking about his position at the time. The best fighter in the world at 175, did NOT have to make any concessions to a relatively unknown Minor belt holder, from the weight division below. Joe could have done more to push for the fight, such as moving up to Roy's weight class etc. How the **** can you chase someone, when they're at 175, and you're at 168? You can't say you've chased someone hard for years, when you haven't even made the effort to fight in their weight class. It's ******ed. You show me a clip of him saying he chased Roy, and I'll show you his boxrec resume. We KNOW he was lying!
I come on ESB to get away from my everyday life and pass a little time.. Arguing with bailey and his Calzaghe squad, is kind of amusing to me I guess.atsch
I don't get the whole troll thing. Who would continuously want to be proved wrong, and be made to look like a fool? It makes no sense. Bailey's cool though, he excersises my mind, and gives me a break from my Mrs ha!
