I've only just started watching MMA and this Aldo guy looks very impressive. This matchup has been rumored. I know nothing of Florian (yet). How would this fight go?

I believe Kenny Florian is scheduled to fight Diego Nunes at UFC 131, possibly for a title shot.

Florian says he is currently 177 and he looked slim. 32 pound cut! Sheesh.

I can't see Florian winning unless he tries to use his size to stall against the cage.

He will fight at 145 pounds, not 155.

The mere mention of Aldo's name, and I feel my knees buckling. I don't know how those guys take his vicious leg kicks without crumbling.

After failed attempts at 155, it is a good way to revitalise his career. The 145 division needs it as well. Plus there is some history with Aldo turning down the Florian fight.

Florian should focus on fighting guys who he can bang with to bring more interest to himself, and get comfortable at new weights.. Jumping in against Aldo is a metaphorical jump in with a lion if he's looking to drop 30 lbs, he's hoping for a miracle and most of us are expecting him to get clowned/ massacred. He wouldn't even be comfortable in his own skin, let alone fight one of the most dominant and pitiless lb for lb fighters in MMA. Aldo is a beast, he will probably end up hurting Florian.

I don't think losing so much weight is a good idea for someone who should be more a natural 165-177 lb guy.

I reckon Kenny will look like a corpse at 145.

Its really really difficuilt to see Kenny actually beating Aldo , as oppose to everbody else @45 , watch the **** out :deal

That ofcourse is assuming he gets the cut right , but he is full time in the Tri Star now and in them circles he will have exposure to Johnathan Chainberg , a renound S&C coach (that said wasnt Chainberg his S&C coach when he was De La Grotte?) , anyway , if he is advising Kenny this is best , it must be sound advice as this guy knows his clients , and he knows his sports science .

When i heard this move from Kenny it struck me as a bolt from the blue then and still does now , him and Aldo are on a collision course , that is certain , but what isnt is Kenny making a fight with Aldo competetive , i dont see it , i see Florian going the way all the others have TBH .

Big fan of Florian though , cant wait to see him out again :good
