Yeah, I was joking saying it didn't really matter, he just had 5 losses, it'd be exciting if boxers had long careers todays, and if they were able to avenge loses, like back in the old days. :smoke Im saying, his AM record is great !!

Up and coming Puerto Rican fighter Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle 5-0(3) has born into a Boxing family, his uncle Rafael won a world title in the 90’s. Del Valle 22 debuted in April 2008 having previously had a successful amateur career that culminated in him only just falling short of making the 2008 Olympics. Del Valle is one of the top prospects in Puerto Rico and intends to gatecrash the Featherweight division once he has more experience. Here’s what “Orlandito” of Newburgh, NY by way of Bayamon had to say.

Anson Wainwright - When are you scheduled to fight next? Do you have an opponent and where will it be?

Luis Del Valle - My next fight is schedule to be sometime in July or August. My opponent is yet to be known and most likely it will be in New York or Puerto Rico.

Anson Wainwright - I believe you were a very good amateur, what can you tell us about your amateur accomplishments? What titles did you win and what was your final record?

Luis Del Valle - I feel very proud of what I have accomplished during my amateur career. For me, my amateurs days will always be unforgettable. I am a 3 times NY Golden Gloves and a National Golden Gloves Champion as well. I also was a Under 19 National champion. I represented the USA in the 2007 Pan Am games, 2006 World Cup and many more internationals competition. I finished my amateur career with a 114-12 record. For more details of my amateurs career and/or biography u can visit [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Del_Valle[/ame]

Anson Wainwright - I believe you signed pro forms with Top Rank but are now with Lou Di Bella. Can you tell us what happened there?

Luis Del Valle - Top Rank is a west coast promotional company where most of their shows are held in that area. My trainer/manager Raymond Rivera wanted to keep me more active in the beginning of my pro career in the east coast where I live and train. With Top Rank it was going to be a little difficult to fight in the east specially NY. Yes,we are going with Lou, it is an honour for me and Team Del Valle to be part of DiBella Entertainment.

Anson Wainwright - Who is in your team? Manager, trainer etc?

Luis Del Valle - Raymond Rivera Is my manager/trainer. Luis Braña is cut man. I also have my family, friends and most of all my fans who are part of my team.

Anson Wainwright - You come from a Boxing family, I think it was your cousin Rafael Del Valle who was the WBO 118 champion 1992-94. Is this how you first got involved in Boxing?

Luis Del Valle - Boxing is just in my blood. Ever since I can remember I always wanted to box but my parents wouldn’t let me because I was to young but I found a boxing gym behind my school and I started going everyday after school. My parents found out when I told them that I needed boxing gear for my first amateur fight. From that day, they have become my #1 fans.

Anson Wainwright - What is your cousin Rafael doing these days?

Luis Del Valle - Rafy is working as a Paralegal for a law firm in Puerto Rico.

Anson Wainwright - Have you fought any of the top fighters in Boxing at the moment whether it be in sparring or the amateur’s?

Luis Del Valle - Yes, I have wins as an amateur over top prospects Matt Remillard 17-0(9KO) at the 2004 PAL’s. 2008 Olympian Saddam Ali 3-0(2KO) at the 2006 Us Nat and Luis Cruz 10-0(8KO) twice in Puerto Rico.

Anson Wainwright - What is your goal in Boxing?

Luis Del Valle - Beside becoming a recognized world champion, I just want to serve as a role model for everybody out there specially the young kids coming up and when i retiring from fighting i am definitely want to stay mix in the sport.

Anson Wainwright - What do you like to do away from Boxing?

Luis Del Valle - I honestly like to spent as much time as i can with my family. We are very close.

Anson Wainwright - Who was your favourite fighter growing up?

Luis Del Valle - Felix Trinidad was and still is my favourite fighter in and out the ring for many reasons. The way he represents Puerto Rico and carry’s himself. Tito never let fame get to him and never backed down from any challenge.

Anson Wainwright - Finally as a Puerto Rican, your people are very passionate. Do you have a message for them and the rest of the Boxing world?

Luis Del Valle - I just want to let them know that every single step i take i do it with Puerto Rico in my heart and when i get to the top all of us will be on top. For the boxing world, stay tuned because i bring nothing but fire and excitement to the table.

Thank you for your time Luis

    Thank You and God Bless.
    Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle

My bad I took it the wrong way.. And yea man I def agree, 1 loss means too much now a days.

Your right about Rigondeaux.. He's the best and most complete prospect out right now.
