Another sad financial reality and black eye to the sport. It's pathetic that so many former great's and champions have ended up broke and with little to show in comparison for what they gave in the ring.
JLC was wrong in not making weight but tis a :-( situation.

If he has to fight again for money he should face the winner or loser for that matter of Gatti-Gomez

Gatti wins, Chavez jr. is in the works.

    He would utterly destroy Gomez.

Castillo is at his best when he can physically bull an opponent and apply his trademark pressure. Hatton is not going to be bulled by a former lightweight. Not a good matchup for JLC.

I think he still has it in him to beat some top tier fighters. At this point, I'd still pick him over any current 135-140 major beltholder. I honestly don't think we've seen the last of JLC.

    I hear you!

I'm not one that thinks that Castillo was shot. Sure he is'nt as good as he was a few years ago, but I dont see him as a shot fighter.

Hatton is just that good. He nullified Castillo's bread and butter hook to the body by tieing up Castillo's left hand up close, and Hatton unleached quick, powerful bursts while going in.

I believe Hatton does rise to the occasion, and it looks like now after the verbal jibe he threw at Mayweather that he's chomping at the bit to get at Mayweather Jr.

.....but back to the thread topic....Indeed, hail to the mighty Warrior JL Castillo, I wont be suprised if he gives us a couple of more great fights!

Castillo is a warrior and a great fighter. I'd like to see him get one last payday against Arturo Gatti in both men's last fight, it would be a great occasion and the kind of war that has typified both of their careers.
