Parker knocks Briedis out within 6 rounds. Parker ain't sitting back and defending against Briedis, because he doesn't need to. Parker will just come forward, show massive aggression and Briedis won't be able to deal with it. He will be all over briedis like a rash. Briedis has no tools that force Parker to respect him. Parker knows that Briedis can't even dent that chin one little bit, so he will just come forward, take whatever Briedis has to throw and come back with ferocious punches that will eventually break down Briedis over time.

Parker within 6, no doubt about it.

How does that logic figure? You're forgetting styles make fights?

Breidis seems more refined better technique, parker misses alot of punches.

Breidis should present himself as a soft touch "duck option" for reserved paper champions of the modern HW landscape.
Dangerous guy that would give someone like Wilder heaps of trouble if selected instead of other part-timers for the filler defenses. If it was him instead of Molina or Duhaupas he would be champion already.

Why would a guy who's 33 and could, according to quite a few, 'school parker', stay as a cruiserweight?

    How does that logic figure?

Legacy? Heavyweight champion > Cruiserweight champion throughout history.
Money? One of two biggest draws in the sport is Joshua, why wouldn't you want that fight?

Well, he beat Perez with relative ease, and violently KO'd Charr, it wouldn't shock me in the least if he beat Parker.

But here's the deal, styles make fights, and smaller guys have always been Usyk's kryptonite, and since none of the guys are even close to smaller, that's Usyk forte. As in Brieidis gives Usyk a harder fight 10 out of 10 times than Whyte ever would. Usyk and his style is well suited to HW, Briedis' not so much.

LOL those Whyte's fans are funny like hell.

Parker did far better than Whyte against better version of AJ, never in danger of being stopped while Whyte got KTFO'd.

Parker is way more skilled/quicker/better boxer than Whyte, who should've lost vs past prime Chisora.

Parker aint on Breidis' level overall talent/skillwise. Breidis has already proved himself at heavyweight KO'ing Charr just for the fun of it with ease. Parker might make it competitive, however I can't see how Parker can beat Breidis.
People need to realise that all 3 of the top cruiserweights - Usyk, Gassiev and Breidis are all P4P talents.

    Wtf are you talking about?

Your logic was that Usyk moving up to heavyweight (and projected to become the dominant force there) means Briedis defeats Parker comfortably. Those are your exact words. One thing has literally naught to do with the other.

You realize that Usyk can move up and become the #1 heavyweight and that doesn't inform Briedis' chances vs. Parker in the least, right? Two different match-ups. Briedis can move up and lose to Parker and still be a successful heavyweight.

I think Parker would beat Briedis in a tough back and forth battle in which the younger, more active man eventually overcomes. Briedis is a top talent though, with genuine knockout power at heavy and the skills to trouble anyone in the top ten. I can't wait to see him move up.

It'd be a good fight. Parker starts as favourite IMHO but Briedis winning wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Firstly, there's no guarantee that Usyk would dominate at HW. Secondly, Usyk and Briedis do not share the same attributes so cannot be directly compared. The things which Usyk does well against bigger men are not necessarily the sorts of things that would allow Briedis to have the same success, and the things which Briedis troubles Usyk with are not the same sorts of things that'd trouble the likes of Parker, Joshua etc.

    No.

My argument is why would any cruiserweight who could be successful as a heavyweight not step up?

I see. That isn't how it sounded with your original wording:

Considering Usyk is the 'next biggest thing' and will step up to heavyweight and take over, surely Briedis would beat Parker comfortably then?

That is more of a conditional if-then statement where two unrelated things are put together.
