He got hit with a telegraphed haymaker like an amateur that rocked his equilibrium for the rest of the fight almost similar to Ruiz 1 but it wasn’t from a counter. Amateur mistake but AJ is no amateur. It was just not his night but it was Dubiois’.

Judge took Hrgovic out from the bleeding

Dubois has always had a hard, ram rod jab, even going into the Joyce fight people where talking about how it would be a weapon for him only for him to be totally out jabbed. Dubois does probably have the hardest jab in the division but it's a punch that lacks variety which is why Joyce out jabbed him with ease. It's a great weapon to have when you need to push an opponent back or to set up a another punch to follow but he doesn't control range with it, can't use it well off the back foot as a defensive weapon or even throw it in a different way, like an up jab, a corkscrew, post with it, disguise it as a hook or vice versa. He really only does one thing with it, which he's great at but against guys like Fury, Usyk, Joyce who have much more variety in their jabs and movement to go with it he'll always get out jabbed.

Joshua's jab has always been pretty limited too. Even as an amateur I remember getting frustrated by it as he has some much potential with it but doesn't ever really get the best out of his attributes. At least as a pro he learned to throw it more with consistency but as the Usyk fight showed, he doesn't have a great lead hand as Usyk took away his jab so easily.

I disagree, I don't think Joshua wins a rematch by doing what he did in the Ruiz rematch. Dubois is a fighter than needs his momentum stopped as he's at his most dangerous going forward, simply backing up is what Joshua tried, and Dubois had no problem closing the distance on him by stepping in with that hard, fast jab. Ruiz is a flat footed lump that needs guys to open up for him to work, Dubois can step in quickly enough to make his own openings unlike Ruiz.

Joshua big initial mistake was not taking the centre of the ring, instead he fought timidly, allowed Dubois to come forward and dictate the pace of the fight and from that very first moment he had given Dubois the fight. He needs to stop Dubois' forward momentum with a jab, like Joyce did and move laterally to keep turning him and keep DDD in the centre of the ring. If he simply uses his feet and try to keep it long by just backing up like he did against Ruiz, he'll get pushed onto the ropes where Dubois is at his most dangerous. We saw last night every time Dubois had him on the ropes, Dubois battered him. Joshua needs to stand his ground and hold the centre that's crucial if he's to win a rematch.

Or maybe Dubois is just really better than both of them.

If he's careful Joshua won't get in a ring with Dubois again. DDD was superior in every way.

Also Ruiz came into the rematch fatter than usual and made no attempts to actually go for AJ. Dubois will not allow AJ to box a cautious fight with minimal engagement.

Well for a supposed telegraphed haymaker, AJ sure got the message and Dubois reaped a good harvest.
AJs mistake as you describe it, is summed up in Jack Dempseys quote he made to his wife after his loss of title to Tunney, “Honey, I just forgot to duck"

He just understimated Dubois BIG TIME. He just stood there, in front of him, inside range, in round 1 and with his hands down.

Not even an amateur makes that mistake. There are no words to describe this mistake in HW.

Dubois did not connect this punch out of skill. No, it was not like that. It was an isolated haymaker thrown from a mile. Dubois will only have this oportunity once in his whole lifetime, that's why I think AJ would win a rematch, because Dubois will not have that luck twice, the same way that kambosos will never have it either.

This fight was for a world title, AJ was officially the challenger, and a win would make him a 3 time champion, if AJ underestimated Dubois with all that on the line, then he should hang his gloves up pronto.
