Hearn saying they want Yarde or Johnson next for Buatsis. Thats a big step for Yarde but would love to see it.

I think Buatsi is an excellent prospect but it did irk me the way they tried to sell Quinlan as a step up. The fella is only slightly known because Eubank Jn plucked him from obscurity as a knockover pudding for the Asda belt. He’s had 16 fights in 10 years, and he was clearly a v fleshy super middle.

Buatsi needs proper tests to build him up through the levels in the pro game. He has the amateur pedigree, no point fighting cans.

This is hilarious! The face on Nelson and AJ, two company men, says it all.

I like Buatsi, but these sorts of fights do him no favours whatsoever, gives him nothing, he learns nothing and it isn't a good look.

I had no problem with Buatsi throwing punches and catching Quinlan on the break.. it was literally milliseconds between the call of break, the punch being thrown and they were both scuffling, pulling, holding and it happens.

Also the old.. defend yourself at all time.

What I did have a problem with is Terry O'Connor, Quinlan was obviously seriously hurt, it wasn't called a knockdown, it was clearly after the call of break so therefore it was either a foul or an unintentional foul.

O'Connor didn't give Quinlan any time to recover whatsoever, he started dragging him up by his wrist, I believe in the panic if Quinlan laid down and refused to get up O'Connor would have a decision to make.. to either DQ Buatsi or more than likely call it a NC.

If that was a low blow, Quinlan would have given time to recover but hit after the call of break and he is dragged up to his feet with no recovery time, all rather disgraceful in my opinion.

That was O'Connor's last fight as a ref right?

    Thank the lord.

I said in the Hearn Hypocrisy thread that this was awful matchmaking and a horde of Hearn apologists argued against me.

Let’s just recap at what we saw. We saw a SMW who was completely destroyed by light punching Eubank at SMW dragged up to LHW at two weeks notice to take on one of the country’s brightest prospects who was then gifted a brutal KO win after the home referee failed to DQ him for a blatant foul which knocked Quinlan out on his feet.

The whole thing was a farcical **** show but what do you expect from Matchroom?

Nelson had the expression of someone who has let a poo slip out and is worried about it sliding down his leg and onto the floor, so everyone can see

I can't see Yarde not pulling out of a fight against Buatsi. I can't see Warren allowing his poster boy fight an obvious missmatch.

Buatsi can outbox Yarde. But can he survive Yarde's power over 12 rounds? We still don't know anything about his chin.

I think it's bravado on Hearn to keep calling out Yarde because he knows Warren is unlikely to take it so it gives Buatsi the street cred and reputation.

If Hearn supposedly wants Yarde, then why isn't he making Buatsi vs Burton or Buatsi vs Johnson? Those fights are easier to make for obvious reasons. Even a fight against Jake Ball is better than him fighting Yarde's cast-offs and super middleweights. Paulie was spot on.

brilliant prospect but paulie calls this one right AND he was lucky not to get DQd. At least his opponent should have been given time to recover -- he was rushed back into it then stopped hastily as if they wanted it over

To be fair Yarde has been matched so pathetically that we don't really know anything about him yet.

Buatsi has had less than 10 fights so he's doing fine but he DOES need to go more rounds. No more KO1's.
That's not how you learn anything.

He needs someone durable like Koelling or Karo Murat.
