I didn't like Margo because he was being touted as the second coming of Duran and was used by PBF haters as a way to try and discredit him even though he wasn't **** to begin with. Is Angulo getting hype anywhere close to that? No he's a young exciting fighter.
I think Kermit Cintron would win here. Kermit's will isn't iron, but Clottey doesn't really know how to finish a guy off. Joshua's chin can take Kermit's best shots but on the other hand Joshua's workrate or lack thereof won't be enough to take Kermit off his game. Cintron maintains distance to get off his potshots to win enough rounds.
the martinez fight was against a 154 lb champion and it was a bad decision but **** that should tell u cintron is no joke...and beating angulo is a great win...he is more accomplished than clottey...i think that would be a good fight right now
I don't know really. They are both good, solid fighters with their own characteristics. However I think Cintron has been beaten pretty decisively vs both Margo and Martinez, while Clottey has a DQ to Baldomir where he was doing well, a broken hand vs Marg that clearly affected the good performance he was having and an extremely close fight with Cotto which I believe he did lose, with that unlucky, off balance KD. I haven't rewatched the fight though, I'm not sure he did lose just because of the KD, I know he gave away the last couple of rounds. But I did get the impression that Clottey looked the stronger of the 2 and the one that dealt more damage even though i believe from watching the fight once, that he did lose based on points/rounds. I'm being 100% honest with that assessment, I've said the same stuff since Clottey wasn't even discussed as a Pac opponent. BUT, that however doesn't tell me that much about their particular match up (Cintron/Clottey), so I really don't know. They are not bad fights but no replacements to "THE" fight.
Clottey would win, probably by wide decision. He's far tougher than Cintron and more polished from a skills standpoint. Cintron doesn't handle pressure well/is there to be hit, plus he gets frustrated when he's not getting through with shots, which he wouldn't against Clottey's tight defense.
Williams also went out and beat people and was ducked by pretty much everyone 154 and down and he didn't cheat to do it. A green Williams also beat a loaded gloved Margo at his own game when he was said to be most feared.
I should have made a clarification about the part where you said "was **** to begin with". I don't think neither Marg or Williams were/are ****. But anyway, the Margarito hate from you was before the handwrap incident andbefore the brutal loss to Mosley AND before Williams beat Martinez too, hell probably before Williams rematched Quintana. So... :think I'm just saying Williams was/is also in a pretty similar position. But it doesn't matter, I can't tell you who to like.
Plus, the Puertoricans (a lot of whom are still a littel bitter at Pac) will probably vote for Cintron also. Personally, I alraady know Joshua Clottey would whip his ass like he did Cotto! atsch...oh wait!
