A lot of people are saying that AJ should step right to Wilder and bang him out of there. I agree to a certain extent, but I think Joshua needs to use his jab and not necessarily go right for the KO shot. Fast, hard shots in the first round or two would be key. He needs to come in lean and focus on his quickness, throwing hard enough to get Wilder's respect & make Deontay think twice about throwing a big shot. But Joshua must use a good, stiff jab to upset Wilder's rhythm and to send a message that it's gonna be a rough night.
For all the complaining going on, I thoroughly enjoyed the Joshua-Helenius fight. IMO, both guys fought well. It was a good scrap. Joshua got two black eyes and a bloody nose. Helenius' nose looked jacked up. It concluded with a brutal KO at the end. In his career, Helenius fought Joshua, Wilder, Peter, Brewster, Liakhovich, Chisora, Kownacki twice, Washington, Teper, Whyte and Duhaupas. He finished 7-5 against them. Nearly all the fights were entertaining. Ten of the 12 matches ended with a conclusive stoppage. They say MMA fans are more forgiving of a guy who loses but puts on entertaining fights. Helenius was an entertaining heavyweight. If Helenius ends his career with a 32-5 record, he can hold his head up. He was a solid pro and contender. One of the better heavyweights never to receive a title shot.
