And you’ll be creating a Fury is overrated thread if Usyk does the same to him? Sorry mate but there’s no shame in losing in a competitive fight to someone like Usyk
he might be but he was coming into the fight as the guy that lost to andy ruiz and looked scared in the rematch.
Not into all this hype job etc talk, even though there’s an element of truth to it. He lost to the better boxer, hes not number 1 as some people believe but number 3 or 4 (don’t know what’s left of wilder but think he’s be terrible for Joshua) why can’t someone just fall short and be good instead of great instead of all this hype job, bum, pudding etc talk. Also it’s diminishing what usyk has just achieved, if Joshua is a bum overrated hype job then what usyk has just achieved isn’t all that no? He’s one of the better fighter of his era he’s just not the very best
Joshua looked scared from the off! Everytime he had a single punch success usyk picked it up a gear and put the fear into him. I think it's a mental thing with him not helped by his trainer shouting "brilliant" at him for 12 rounds. Every time he done it usyk clobbered him. Ruiz defeat mentally ruined him
There's no shame in losing to Usyk - I never inferred as much. But that does not mean that Joshua is not overrated. He has been ridiculously overrated on the back of these "top 10" wins for years. Last night showed why beating the likes of Pulev and Takam means jack **** theorising as to who is the top dog. For the last few months on this forum 90% of the rhetoric has been "Joshua is too big and too strong", "Usyk looked poor versus Chisora and Witherspoon, "Usyk is past his best", "Usyk is a cruiserweight", "Joshua is continually improving" (including yourself) and other such inaccuracies. Apparently that has all changed now, it's "Usyk is special" and "styles make fights" and .... silence. Fury, on the other hand, has been underrated just about his entire career. How is this even a debate? He was not selected for the Olympic squad because his face didn't fit. He apparently lost against McDermott (very close bout, either way) and would lose in a rematch - he knocked him out despite being in terrible shape himself. He was supposed to lose to Chisora - he stood there and fought him, and beat him, however unsophisticated he was at that point in time. Dropped by Pajkic - can't take a punch, absolutely crap and can't box for toffee. Can only brawl, they said. He was supposed to lose to David Price - and when they didn't fight he ducked him. He was then supposed to lose to David Haye, people mocking Fury and looking forward to a loss - Haye pulled out and he knew he was going to get battered. Dropped by feather-fisted Cunningham - can't take a punch. He was touted to be outclassed by Klitschko and was seen as a joke - much of the public looking forward to seeing him lose. He outclassed 39 year old Klitschko in his own arena, comprehensively, and still did not get the credit he deserved. It was "Klitschko is old and past it". Apparently a 41 year old Klitschko, coming off inactivity and fighting in Wembley was better and Joshua who went life and death with him enjoyed the plaudits. He was then touted as a failure and a "drugs cheat" (by Santa Claus believers) and would never win a title again, a fluke. Not a chance they said he would beat Wilder - was robbed on the cards, and battered him in the rematch after apparently looking shot vs Wallin. A blind man can see the difference here. Joshua has been overrated since the day dot, and Fury has been underrated. Joshua is in actual fact a very good boxer, and Fury is a great boxer.
Bit harsh, he was up against a master technician and with the shift Usyk put in, it would of been difficult for anyone to beat him. Joshua had some good rounds and I thought it was a good fight. Lets see how well everyone else fairs with Usyk before we turn the knife! I am pretty sure Usyk will deal with them all.
Spot on. Not a Joshua fan but he’s just lost to probably the best P4P fighter in the world. No shame in it.
He also looked anxious at the presser and weigh-in this week. Posted on Friday that the fight was beginning to have a Kovalev v Cleverley pre fight feel about it on the weigh-in thread
I think Joshua has been a good fighter in the heavyweight division, but for me has never more than the best of the rest when comparing to the top heavyweights. Fury has always been ahead of him, now Usyk is for sure. I still want to see AJ fight Fury and Wilder, I don't think he has a chance against Fury who would knock him out, but the fans deserve to see it at least. Wilder would be an interesting fight to watch I think Joshua has been overrated and over hyped but I wouldn't stoop to insulting him or calling him a bum. No shame in losing to Usyk but it just shows that Joshua isn't that top calibre of fighter some thought he was
