My guess is either Miller in New York or povetkin in the UK. I think wilder will fight brezeale. It would be good if wilder and Joshua was on the same bill in New York with them fighting eachother in Vegas around November/ December, provided they both win. I don't think we get the big one next
Povetkin makes sense. His brutal KO of Pricey fresh in the memories of AJ's considerable fanbase. He's got a great record and immense credentials compared to most currently active heavyweights. He's also many years past his prime, 38 years old now and easier to hit than ever. He's miles over the hill and down the other side, if not completely shot. He's never been stopped. Joshua most likely destroys the old man and they can sell that as some incredible achievement.
Miller and Wilder have beef so i could see that fight getting made out of spite against Wilder. Miller would also make AJ look good after having two awkward fighters that wanted to keep moving on the backfoot in damage limitation mode.
Can’t see him going America, he doesn’t really need to does he. Makes too much money here filling 80,000 seat stadiums so can’t blame him. I’d like to see him fight Povetkin. He might not be at his peak anymore but he’s still quality with his movement. He’s proactive with getting in on the inside and trying to land his shots, and we can see he’s got power. I’m not sold on Miller at all. Joshua would box his head off. Slow, lumbering fighter with clubbing shots. He’d be stepping off him landing shots at will. Nothing to fear there. I really want to see him against Wilder, that’s the main fight.
Povetkin next I'd imagine- perhaps at the O2 as I doubt Wembley would be available in the summer. Miller is a tough man and arguably the hardest fight in the division of those who are active, I also don't see Hearn bothering with the US market until Joshua has unified the division.
Yeah, my guess would be povetkin. I would actually like to see him in America build his name up there but realistically He is getting consistently over 10mil here and Miller has said he wouldn’t come to the UK so doubt that will happen.
Povetkin was fighting in Cardiff simply for the purpose of fighting Tony Dosh next. Wilder is being ducked
Joshua will Not travel to the states to fight Miller as this will open the floodgates and destroy hearns argument about wilder having to come to the uk. I personally think that pov gets paid to step aside so that aj can box a stiff. I feel hearn will protect his man until fury is "ready " so that he can maximise his cash . Meanwhile whyte will take some risks and if he comes through then that will be Eddie's back up plan b for the big stadium showdown
It will be Povetkin or another contender, in the UK. It will NOT be Wilder. That fight doesnt look like happening until this time next year at this point.
I dont think the big one should be next. Joshua has been taking the risks and its a shame Wilder hasnt had more of the big fights. If it is Joshua against Miller and Wilder against Breazeale it would be Joshua facing a dangerous undefeated opponent and Wilder facing a Joshua victim. I doubt it would be Joshua vs Duhuapas or Arreola and Wilder vs Miller
There's one thing you can bet your house on - if Joshua doesn't fight Wilder next, then whoever he does fight will be a lot tougher than whoever Wilder takes on.
Joshua's best win is a 41 year old that hadn't won for 2 years. Ortiz was a risky fight. I doubt that Joshua would relish facing him.
