When Wilder refuses to accept the current offer to fight Joshua in UK do you think he will have considered Joshua might lose to Povetkin. I think there is a 30-35% chance Joshua loses to Povetkin if this does happen what will Wilders next 12 months look like, maybe Breazeale, Kownacki then Ortiz rematch. Not exactly superfight territory. Joshua of course would have a Povetkin rematch which would be significantly bigger than the first fight. There doesn’t seem to be any leaking of second offer but presumably it is better than 12.5m flat fee. If Wilder doesn’t take this now he might find in a few months the largest offer for any fight is a tiny fraction of what is currently available. All gold mines run dry eventually
I don't think it will be such a war. I just think if Povetkin hurts Joshua he wont let him off the hook.
povetkin is not the same as he was couple years back he is showing his age slowly still a dangerous fight for Joshua but I expect him to win maybe even by knockout but povektin is a live dog
Povetkin looked shot against Price. His technique is still there, but his timing has slipped badly. If the fight were anywhere besides the U.K. I'd give Povetkin a chance, since Joshua is still very green and makes a lot of rookie mistakes that Povektin can capitalize on, but in the U.K. I see Joshua clinching and smothering Povetkin to a boring decision win.
If he isn't getting the money he deserves, then he is free to just go off to Hearn's DAZN project and he'll be earning 3 times what he has been reportedly earning, if not more. Takes one meeting to do that. Considering that in mind, it isn't risky for Wilder at all. In fact, it makes things better for him. He gets all the belts more easily than if he had to beat Joshua for them. (I fancy Povetkin against Wilder, real 50-50). There is no doubt, Joshua beats Wilder all day long. It is far less risky.
Joshua will sustain damage from Povetkin I agree. Wilder has had a much easier path Joshua has had to take Strong Blows from the Best of The Best. I get that Joshua is a machine but Wilder will KO him. Joshua is too shopworn
Hopefully the bodybuilder Joshua doesn't take too much punishment getting past Povetkin. Lol we don't want him too softened up when he steps up against the devastating bronze bomber!
Povetkin is an animalistic ****, he is going to be hunting Joshua down like a savage. Don’t forget that Price polaxed Joshua FACE DOWN in sparring gloves. Povetkin was hurt by Price but stayed standing. Povetkin WILL get off the floor to destroy Joshua if necessary.
I would love Povetkin to ko AJ then watch Wilder drop his belt because he can't use the made up ped charges to get out of going to Russia again...
Povetkin too small, will slow down rapidly due to being on the cusp of shotness and Joshua's defence isn't given enough credit. Might be a scare or 2 but Josh will keep him at the end of 1-2s, hurting Pov somewhere between rounds 5-9 and then stopping him (probably ref stepping in after Pov doesn't throw back/out on feet, causing the joshua hate bridgade to have a meltdown on esb and claim "british stoppage" and "wilder smokes him" etc usual bullshite) Then we go back to this annoying/boring back and forth between Joshua and Wilder. Until finally the fight gets made and aj completes becoming undisputed after icing Wilder as easily as he did vs Martin.
I'd give Joshua big props if he fights and beats Povetkin. I still don't know how or why people rank Wilder over Povetkin.
