I'd have preferred a Cornish like fight in July and then a Wach/Charr like fight in September. I hope they do progress Joshua quicker next year although I get the feeling that Sky/Hearn are in no real rush.
That doesnt mean sh|t, Wilder wasnt an Olympic Gold medallist. And since when has it become acceptable to compare someones record to a guys who everyone knows has been manuactured and is in fact terrible.
34 fights in with one good fighter on his resume. By the time joshua is on his 34th fight he would of took on most of the top 20 and some of the top 10.
Yes I agree Wilder is overrated but he's still a world champion. Joshua didn't have a lengthy amateur career and I think it's smart that he's not been rushed into big fights just yet. Cornish isn't the best competition but people are overreacting here. He'll fight either Wach, Whyte etc by the end of the year. Just enjoy watching him give Cornish his first loss by stopping in the first three rounds then we can see him against a much better opponent who will give him rounds for once. Hopefully it's Whyte. Getting sick off some idiots thinking Whyte can stop Joshua.
Why are people surprised? Unfortunately it's the modern way. Take the least line of resistance to a belt, nobody expects Hearn to remotely risk his investment do they?
I honestly think he actually can go all the way but I'm worried when the test comes then all these ****py fights will work against him.
He's being conditioned to believe he can blast all his opponents out within a few rounds. That is going to breed impatience and carelessness when he does eventually have to step up but who knows when the hell that is going to be. It could be 20th, 25th fight before we actually see Joshua step in the ring with someone with a heartbeat and the casuals will keep saying that he needs to be slowly developed.. look at wilder etc The guy is a black price, just more insane hype.
He's better than Price as one thing I can see in AJ that will make him a champ is the killer instinct and number of punches when he sniffs the opponent is hurt that's a top skill at HW
Wilder has achieved what every heavy weight wants. WBC champion. Doesn't matter who he has fought, he reached his goal. Joshua is coming along well. If it takes 30 fights then it's fine. He will get his chance one day and I think he will do it.
Whilst I do agree that this fight is a joke, your expectations of what opponents Joshua should be facing right now are ridiculous.
Urgh, it'll look ok on paper because of Cornish's record but this isn't really a great fight. Has it actually been announced though as all I'd seen was Joshua say he'd be up for it
