Joshua vs Gavern-anyone doing round per round?

Yes noticed he didn't look quite as ripped although still far to ripped for boxer. From the training clips he posts on social media he looks like he's doing tons of flexibility work instead of weights

 

Cracking fight, I don't say this often either but credit to Jim Watt, he called that fight perfectly.

Fight was poor yes, of course it would be what do you expect from a 10-0 heavyweight coming back from injury. Joshua however was decent and that's what my point was.

 

It shows he can knock out Kevin Johnson that has never been knocked out......

 

Its a **** fight Pro Punter as you said it was.

Johnson has looked dire in recent fights, hardly throws any shots and just labors around happy to lose and go to points. The selling point will be "first man to stop Johnson" but honestly who cares if he does stop him as Johnson is shot, old and irrelevant. Was never that good to begin with let alone in 2015. I still say its a **** fight.

Throw him in with Fury? Are you lot absolutely stupid. He is there to be built and improve as a fighter you slowly progress him, you don't just throw him in with a top 5 fighter straight away

 

AJ just beat Jason Gavern in his 11th fight
Deontay Wilder ( world champ ) beat him in his 32nd fight.

 

Its about getting him rounds at this stage we need to see him later in a fight yes kj won't be much of a threat but it's still very early days. I think he is being brought along fine now it's time to step up. After Johnson chisora or price in the summer

Rubbish fight.

 

Price or Chisora would be very risky fights at this early stage. Chisora especially wouldn't buckle under the pressure.

Price is a mental midget, but between him a AJ, Price hits harder. If he can land, it's lights out AJ.

I'd expect AJ to win both however.

 

AJ has had 11 fights and only went 20 rounds in his career so far and people are complaining about a Kevin Johnson fight. atsch

AJ needs rounds and Kingpin should take him a few rounds and give him a different kind of challenge, a learning fight which is needed at this stage of his career. Compared to most other top heavyweights after 11 fights, Joshua is way ahead in terms of level of competition.

Gavern isn't good but it was a chance for Joshua to get a fight in after nearly 6 months out from injury against an awkward opponent.

Let's see how they match Joshua after Kingpin and hopefully they gradually step up the level of opposition and we will see just how good he really is.
