I'll have a £50 bet with you that it's a PPV card if you like?

Yet we have a number of world champions and loads more on the production line just waiting for their chance? Name me a time in the last 20 years when it's been better?

You are just a pauper who won't stump up for PPV. That's fine, but don't pretend it's for other reasons.

As I said, if the free-to-air model is so amazing, where are all the German world champs?

I'm not saying it won't, and if it was any time of the year I'd be thinking more that it would be. I'm just giving another side of the argument given this thread went 4 pages from a quote that looks to me to have been taken out of context.

Currently there is no reason to think it would be PPV, its a British Title fight 7 weeks after the last PPV and 2 weeks before Christmas currently with no undercard.

Of course I could well be wrong and it might be PPV. I must admit with a couple of decent other fights I'd personally pay it.

They put together 2 PPV's within the space of a month this year, don't forget; never understimate greed.

Personally I think it'll be a shoehorned PPV with a few decent fights and the rest the standard big name mismatches.

The fact the ticket sales went so well will only give them encouragement that it can be done.

The evidence is boxing has survived and did so despite at times being more corrupt than it is today.

And yes, Europe is not backward, it is booming with genuine superstars. But this attracts organizations who will think 'with a bit of 'tinkering' we can make money off this boom'.

Look at SKY; they made their initial national impact by buying Tyson/BrunoI and when they wanted to experiment with PPV their first big event was Tyson/BrunoII.

Tyson/BrunoI was nearly 27 years ago; someone will in the next few years in Continental Europe try the same experiment, because of the potential rewards. And much like the UK, I suspect the initial hostilities will be eventually replaced with a grudging acceptance and a resentment that the UK has today. Hence my 'thirty years behind' remark.

Well I try to go to cards if I can in the UK and obviously can afford PPV fights if I want to buy them. I just don't want to. I could buy an ice cream for 20 quid too if I wanted to but I wouldn't because that'd be a rip off. I am amused how you seem to think you're some sort of free-spending big shot because you buy PPV though. That's funny.

Anyway point being casuals won't buy continually buy ppv. They have to be tricked into thinking a card is particularly special. Clev Vs Bellew wasn't special. Who are were the people who bought it.

Boxer's would make more money and have a healthier sport if it had public engagement. It'd have this if it was watched on mainstream television.
