We'll see. Joyce is good but i don't see why people favor him to beat Joshua, and you definitely won't see it when they fight. I won't write him off because he can punch and Aj has a shaky chin. Of Joyce detonates a bomb everything could change. But i just see Aj moving out of range when Joyce unloads, slipping a jab rrom time to time and outlanding Joyce him with jabs and counters round by round. I see Aj winning a decision, obviously an easy one though and Aj might be in trouble late in the fight
Both have been dropped and stopped in the ams, but AJ has also been stopped and dropped multiple times as a pro. But as a pro Joyce has taken flush shots that I not only feel would've dropped AJ but he barely even blinks when taking them even when taking big shot after big shot in quick succession, whereas when AJ gets clipped he looks rattled and gets a bit panicky. AJ is obviously faster, technically better and not as easy to hit as Joyce but he's not a one punch put your lights out KO kind of guy. It's his quick combinations and follow up attack that gets the job done for him once after he's hurt you with a big single shot. Joyce isn't generally a one punch kind of guy either but his power, as with many things about him, is deceptive, whereas the only thing deceptive about AJ is his personality. Joyce has that heavy clubbing power and he varies his power up, often throwing lighter flurries and then he'll clump you with a hefty wallop when he wants to sit down on his power. AJ is capable of stopping him but don't think than Joyce isn't just as capable of doing the same to him. I think he can drop him with single shots, either left or right, and do so on accumulation too, and by wearing him out for an attrition stoppage with that crazy pace he sets. Joyce has a very heavy clubbing left hook which he has dropped a number of his opponents with Lenroy looked like he was trying to bust as many dance moves from as many different genres of dance as he could after eating one of them This content is protected
Against a 40 year old Takam, and was getting landed on for 5 rounds doing so. Wheras Povetkin beat a prime version and Aj outclassed a younger version. Looking at Aj vs Takam i actually thing that fight shows that a gassed Aj still beat him easier and got hit less. Joyce could beat him but we'll see. I'll give Joyce all the credit if he proves me wrong. Will you give the bodybuilder credit ?
Perhaps you are among those who still let themselves be fooled by Joyce's unconventional, calm and quiet boxing style. The truth is that he lands heavy shots and has a granite chin. He destroyed Dubois with the jab.
Yeah... I know. As I pointed out in my pre-fight prediction, he'd take that calculated risk to get the KO faster. But he's not going to fight AJ like he fought Takam now is he?
We'll agree to disagree. Based on his fights with Dubois, Jennings and old Takam i don't see the nightmare that everyone makes him out to be, i can see through his deceptive speed just like i see through Foremans, he's not as slow a people think, and has good timing and punch selection, and his stamina and chin would present a very tough situation for Aj. But i can also see him getting tagged up by Jennings and old Takam with my own eyes If Joyce ever beats the bodybuilder him I'll admit you were right
Maybe my breakdown of why Joyce is better than people think he is from another thread, may help him. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...so-many-solidt-fighters.671117/#post-21180564 Along with the obvious attributes in the chin, size and stamina departments. It's his awkward stutter stepping arrhythmic rhythm, his shifting ability (not needing to set his feet and punching while moving), his frequent feints, his persistent jab, his underrated understanding and control of range, his offense as his defense, and his use of angles and varying up the power on his shots, always keeps his opponents guessing, off kilter and unprepared. Are the reasons why he's one of the better boxers at Heavyweight, and the fact that he does all of these things in a such a subtle fashion, that many fairly bright boxing fans are seemingly incapable of processing what they're seeing, makes him even more impressive. It's quite easy to suss out why he's so good, if you know what you're watching.
Well given his defense he will have to That said Joyce is ugly but effective sort of like navarrete in that regard
True. And I would also add that Olympic medals whatever metal It Is are not won by luck (even if sometimes judges can be wrong). Joyce, Yoka and Hrgovic are all talented fighters
If AJ Is not able to knock him out within the 5 rounds and then he gasses for the effort to drop him at all costs hes over with Joyce.
Aj can pace himself and jab and move without gassing by the mid rounds. Like i said we'll see. If Aj beats Joyce and does it after 5 rounds will you give him credit ? Because based on all this talk Joyce must be some monster
None here considers Joyce a monster. Its just that he hit people with Dubois for chin and capacity to hurt the opponent and now he Is seen much better than before.
