Juan Diaz vs Manny Pacqiaou

Say what you like. No skin off my back. Pacquiao isn't shifty, never has been. He is right in front of you and pulls straight back. And since Diaz has an excellent chin, and has taken the power of LW and JWW, I feel comfortable in saying that Diaz will be happy to come straight at Pacquiao.

Alot of what you're posting seems to be a gameplan that you feel works against a fighter like Diaz, then saying Pacquiao can do it even though he never has with any consistancy. He doesn't throw from a distance, he explodes forward, which is why the sidestep counter worked so well for JMM. He isn't shifty, he has little head movement. He never circles a fighter. He is offense first.

You don't put much stock in Diaz. Just say so.

 

Pacquiao still mostly throws that 1-2. He has added some more to the arsenal sure. But it's not like he throws a variety of punches.

Pacquiao certainly has a chance. But I find far too many Pacquiao fans analyzing his strengths and none of his weaknesses. Of course Diaz is there to be hit. I said he would come straight forward.

 

Pac spars with 122 Champ Vasquez who now top 10 P4P. Sta Cruz who is Former interim 135 Champ & if he upset Casa, he'll be a Lineal 135 Champ. V. Ortiz ia Future welterweight Champ(I guarantee this).

 

Like I said....I don't see Pacquiao sparring with the champions of his division. MAB was sparring with Valero and PBF sparring with Spadafora (who was the IBF champ in the division at the time).

Either way, my ONLY point is that many fighters fight larger fighters in sparring.

 

Are you saying 130 lbs Valero a better sparring partners than 140 lbs Victor ortiz & 135 lbs Sta Cruz????

 

They bring entirely different things to the table. Are you telling me they are better than Valero just because of their size, since you seem to be emphasizing it by listing it next to their names? Because if you are telling me that size makes fighters better, then I would say that shoots a hole in your theory that Pacquiao could beat all these larger fighters you project him to beat.

What I said was that most fighters fight larger fighters in sparring, so it's not an advantage that Pacquiao holds over other fighters, because he is not the only one who does it. It was that simple of a statement.

Built: Even

Stamina: Even

Power: Even
Pac will lose some pop in his punch fighting at 135 lbs against Juan Diaz, not that because PAC will lose some of his power moving up in weight but Diaz will be able to absorve some of his punches being the naturally bigger fighter (bigger frame). But this is only my opinion and PAC being a freak of nature he might carry or increase his power when he beefs up to 135 lbs

Skills: Slight Edge - Diaz
However, Pac's boxing skills improves a lot everytime he trains for a fight and come fight night, we might be surprised with his newly honed skills.

Speed: Edge - Pac
Both has tremendous hand speed but Pac has a quicker step and has a lot of upper body movements. I'm sure he'll not stand toe-to-toe with Juan but will box smart.

Fighting Heart: Even
Both fighters are very game. Diaz proves it when he was knocked down first time in his career at a young age of 18 and he went on to win via D. Pac is battle tested against the world's elite fighters although he has been knocked out twice early in his career, first from a head-to-shoulder clash and the second KO was delivered by the scale.

Hungriness: Edge - Diaz
I dont know if this should be a factor but this is what motivates fighters to train hard, endure the pain and sacrifice himself for glory. So, this should be included. Diaz is very young and ambitious. For him, fighting and defeating Pacquiao is the shortcut to stardom and gauranteed bigger paydays. Plus, being Mexican, he wants to avenge the Mexican fighters Pac has defeated. On the otherhand, Pac has lost his hungriness, its all about the money now and glory next. No more anytime, anywhere for the Pac, its now: If the price is right, then he is on, anytime anywhere. But I will not take anything from him, he's only doing it to ensure that he'll be paid accordingly and secure his family's future. So **** WBC for telling PAC not to fight for money anymore but to fight for glory and fight Marquez, who are they bullshitting?

Overall Edge: Diaz - slight edge if he doesnt experience any weight issues going into the fight.

Who do you think will win between 140 Ortiz & 130 Valero??? Who's got more Skills between these two??? Do you think EM & MAB can hang with 140 Bluechip Prospect like Ortiz in sparring??? Pac needs a Big Sparmate so they last longer. Darchinyan Spars with Big guys too but we know already what happenned when he fought a bigger guy, he got KOed. Pac fought the toughest competition at 126-130 & he's never been down. Pac Proves he's a Legend from his Training, to Sparring & in the Big Fights.

 

Propoganda. Has nothing to do with what anyone here is saying. Valero may very well be able to beat Ortiz. You don't know that he can't. You just assume he can't. If anything, it's been proven over the years that a fighter can move up in weight and win.

I don't care WHY Pacquiao needs bigger sparring partners. I never said he didn't. I said many fighters fight bigger guys in sparring.

Oh, and Pacquiao hasn't fought the toughest competition at 130. We have been through this.
