Was Mike Tyson a talentless bum? Was Harry Greb a talentless bum? Was Roberto Duran a talentless bum? All fought dirty. Yet you cannot bring yourself to condemn them. So it has less to do withi fighting dirty and more to do with whether you like that fighter or not. You should feel kinship with them as you admit you were a dirty fighter. A guy says ‘put ‘em up’ and you kick him in the balls? You say no rules to a streetfight, so if the other guy had carved you up with a knife or pulled out a gun and shot you, you’d say that’s all fair? LOL. For the fourth or fifth time — were Tyson, Greb and Duran talentless bums?
No, But you are evidently a Grandiose Bum. You are just jealous because you would have gotten your behind kicked in my neighborhood, I grew up in a very tough Barrio. As I said in a street fight there are no rules, ask anyone on this site, anything goes. There was no referee, the guy wanted to meet me after school, so I met him. I kicked him in the balls as he mouthed off at me, he never even looked at me ever again, he quit his amateur boxing career after that loss to me. I never went looking for a fight, but I never backed away from one, in our home and neighborhood that was unacceptable to turn your back, you would be labelled a coward, then everyone would pick on you including the girls. Go pester someone else, I will never grace your stupid site with those corny repeated so called fantasy matchups, you wanna be mod. In my neighborhood they would have eaten you up real quick, knowing you I could see you quoting rules to some real bad dude who would have then kicked you between the legs too as you were talking. I will stick to the Lounge, it is more of a challenge. Enough of my history lesson to you youngster.
Have to say I’ve never seen anyone hold onto a playground fight where they kicked someone in the balls decades ago as proof of their tough-guy status before, lol. The fact that you can’t say Tyson, Greb and Duran — who all fought dirty — are no-talent bums but claim Pedroza is because he fought dirty says it all. You don’t have double standards … you don’t have any standards. Don’t run away to the lounge now. Everyone in the neighborhood, including the girls, will make fun of you. Stick around and contribute to the boxing discussion … but do so knowing you are just using the ‘dirty fighter = no talent’ tactic because you don’t like Pedroza. You don’t have the minerals to say the same about fighters you like.
You really are a tough guy, kicking school children in the balls when they challenge you to a fair fight. I bet all the other kids in the sandbox quaked in fear of you. Was Tyson a worthless bum? Was Greb a worthless bum? Was Duran a worthless bum? Why can’t you say it?
No fight in the playground is a fair fight , ask anyone. I was in the 8th grade, we had a Joe Boxer who was bragging to all of us that he was an amateur boxer and that he was going to kick all of our behinds. We had 7th, 8th, and 9th grade in our Junior High because we only had one High School in the district, they had 10th, 11th and 12th grade. Anyhow Saintpat, this Joe Boxer was a 9th grader, he looked at me, told me he would meet me after school for a fight, not a boxing match but a fight. I thought that he was bluffing, made nothing of it. After school, there was a good sized crowd. Joe Boxer was prancing up and down, trying to do a cheap imitation of the Ali shuffle, he was giving me his evil eye. He walked over to me to fire the first shot as he was talking, I kicked him right between the legs, he fell over puking his guts out. I shrugged my shoulders and left. You cannot call me a dirty fighter or bully, he challenged me, it was not a boxing match with a referee. He was a tear older, 15 years old, much more buff than me, I was 14 years old, I did not start it, he challenged me to a fight, not a 3 round boxing match, we did not have gloves. I really did not like to fight, I liked to be left alone. Live and let live. Afterwards the only fights I had were defending bullied kids, because they could not fight back. I have taught our 22 year old son to fight, told him never to go looking for a fight but to defend himself if need be. He was challenged by three bullies in Junior High, he beat all three up, I do not believe in being a victim. Again no street fight is ever fair, it is not boxing. The last fight I ever had was over 5 months ago, this guy, much younger than me was showing off for his girlfriend, was upset because I found a parking space first. He walked up to me and stuck his chest into mine and winked at his girlfriend. Then he was barking and attempted a right hand, I kicked him between the legs, he fell and I winked at his girlfriend as he lay vomiting on the ground. I will say this to you before I go back to the lounge, I resent people always trying to correct me while posting, that shows a lack of respect. You and I do not agree on most things, I do have my old fashioned virtues, but as you liked to be respected, quit trying to change my mind on how you believe. I’d like to thank @Richard M Murrieta for reaching out via message so we could bury this hatchet and move on. He’s a valuable member of his community and I appreciate his contributions probably more than he knows. After all, he’s the only active member of this forum who saw James Figg fight in person! We won’t always agree but we can get along. I apologize for sidetracking this and for anything I posted that made this thread uncomfortable or ill-seeming.
I also want to apologize to Saintpat for any inflammatory rhetoric, we did bury the hatchet like two adults. James Figg looked bigger than life. Ha Ha.
