Perhaps, but in a recent poll surveyed on the General Forum, it was thought that JMM is the greatest of the three amigos. That alone warrants this thread.

I think what YOUR not getting is that there are skilled fighters who can't get big fights to showcase their skills. You think every guy fighting on main events is by default more skilled than the guys on the undercards?
Just because MAB and morales were more popular in 96 00 and 02 does not make them better fighters. If they were so much better fighters than those wars they had throughout thier careers wouldn't have had to be wars and they could still be effective at the SAME age that marquez still beating decent competition. I bet your a casual fan that only tunes in for huge ppv's. lol.

I don't think MAB and EM were necessarily better than JMM, only that they should be considered the greater fighters on account of their superior win columns. Likewise, you said something along the lines of, "What are Barrera and Morales going to be like at the age of 37", as if JMM is still fighting well today as a result of being superior. I've said it before and I'll say it again, when you aren't fighting tough opposition all that consistently, there will be less wear and tear, and prior to fighting Pacquiao in 2003, Marquez hadn't really fought many people of note. Barrera and Morales of course had and that's why they burned out quicker. That's really all it is.

    Yeah, I'm a casual fan.

    "Manny Pacquioa is Overrated"

We all know this. Its no surprise there. :deal

Fights old washed up fighters, catch weights,Drains fighters....

    King of cherry picking. :deal

  10. a draw with the best p4p fighter in the world is extremely impressive. dont forget that many people see pacquiao as an all time great. every time manny destroys someone, marquez's stock goes up.

No, it doesn't. Manny Pacquiao is an infinitely better fighter at 140-147lbs than he ever was at the lower weights. If you want to play it like that, Erik Morales stock also rises every time Pacquiao destroys someone? Erik being a fighter who actually defeated the Filipino. It doesn't end there, no, Marco Antonio Barrera's stock would also rise because he beat Erik Morales who beat Manny Pacquiao. Furthermore, Junior Jones is approaching ATG status because he beat Barrera who beat Morales who beat the Filipino. Pacquiao is doing many fighters a great service with his recent success, some fighters that span back decades, even.

    we'll smash them second leg.

JMM is world class.. there's no debate here

  14. so a draw with pacquiao isnt impressive? marquez actually beat pacquiao in their second fight. ive watched that fight more than 10 times. pacquiao didnt win. that was prolly pacquiaos best performance. he boxed really well and he was still outworked and outclassed. marquez is underrated. who can beat him at 135? or 130? no one in the world.

    It is indeed. :good

I haven't denied that JMM is world class. That isn't the debate.
If Pacquiao was outclassed, how can you explain the close scorecards? Better yet, how can you explain Pacquiao being awarded the decision and there being very little screams of robbery afterward?
