Juan Diaz lack that knock out punch but he make up for it with his nonstop workrate that takes fighters will to continue. Urango has heavy hands, but telegraphs his shots. Nate Campbell used some dirty tactics against Diaz to get that UD. But with one eye, Diaz stayed in the fight.

Diaz takes Urangos will to fight and doesn't answer the bell for tenth round

Nate Campbell tested that body, but nates dirty tactics were more effective.

but this is true, Diaz shouldn't go up in weight to fight Urango, It'll be different up there.

Pfft, Diaz is going to be horrible at 140 where he can't impose his size and this is an AWFUL fight for him. Urango looks bad against boxers, a guy who is just going to come at him and throw in high workrate(Diaz is not a good boxer) is what he wants, because he can then set up his own heavy shots.

Who's going to win the inside battle?

The much more skilled, feather fisted, smaller inside swarmer, or the much larger, heavy hitting, less skilled block of bricks that isn't moving anywhere?

Diaz also can't fight backing up for **** and has no plan B, it won't work at 140.

I'm amazed people are picking Diaz, I favour Urango by knockout big time, BIG TIME.:nod

When have you seen even a glimpse of quit in Urango? He fought to the bell with Hatton despite having lost all but a couple of rounds. Hatton didn't take his will to fight, and while his workrate isn't the same as Diaz's, he was busy enough to be effective - and effective as much because of his size, footwork and boxing as his workrate alone. The middling extra (maybe couple hundred) punches you might get out of Juan Diaz over 12 rounds are not going to help him, as he simply doesn't have the size and strength to keep Urango off him, and he'll find the guy just walking through and eating everything he throws (which will probably be a record number for him per round...unless/until Urango's diligent bodywork starts to wear on him). He'd be forced to abandon his swarming and either slug or box and move; one is a very bad idea and the other simply isn't his comfort zone. His hands are also not that much quicker than Hatton's, and his footwork probably isn't as good. The larger Hatton was holding on for dear life after getting rocked a few times by Urango. What will be the reaction of Diaz, who's never been hit anywhere near that hard? I'm not necessarily saying his own will to fight will be taken but his chin will be tested. As critical as I've been of him, the one thing I am impressed with is his uncanny ability to take a shot. That should carry even five pounds up. But Urango is no average 140 lb puncher. I would not be surprised if Urango knocked him out cold, but it would solidify him as one of the hardest p4p hitters active.

This poll exists simply because of Urango's KO. It's skewed people's objectivity. Juan Diaz would land a thousand punches against the robot Urango, and win a wide UD, possibly a shutout.

Wrong. I didn't even watch WNF last night.

Actually I watched one round, in which Urango looked slow and clearly lost, and my girlfriend begged me to switch to Top Chef. Then later last night I saw the clip of the KO after reading about it on here.

This is based on previous viewings of Urango, and my doubts over Diaz's effectiveness moving up.

Diaz might land a thousand if he survives to the final bell - and the only reason I called this a draw was a sign of good faith toward his proven chin. He will be roughed up and hit hard in such a way as he never experienced at 135. He will not bully Urango. His higher volume of punches and connect percentage will be offset by the much harder bombs he will be absorbing. It will be a testament to his chin if he survives. Judges will not extend him the same courtesy they did at LW in rewarding his activity when the disparity between the authority of his shots and his opponent's is this clear.

You guys have to notice how much incredible lack of strength Diaz has and how much incredible strength Urango has. Urango will literally walk through Diaz' punches for 12 rounds...He walked through Hatton's punches what makes you think Diaz will do anything!?!? hahaha

    :thumbsup

The real question here is, what happens when the unstoppable force (Urango's punch) meets the immovable object (Diaz's chin)? :think

Urango KO in the lead. Perhaps I had too little faith in ESB. :D
