mtgawa headbutted flush juanma like 100 times. It wasnt juanma was bad its just mtgawa style matched up well with juanma's, bring gamboa and caballero and lets see wahts up...
Arum is not going to put JuanMa againsy Caballero, no way. Maybe against Gamboa, only because Gamboa is under Top Rank as well ( if not mistaken).
yeah this fight is more likely than the one with Celestino but he wont be the favorite in either fight they will both be toss up fights
Can't really judge the kid based off of one fight. I think he made the mistake of underestimating mtagwa. We'll just see how he does in his next fights
Does anyone else think it was just a matter of timing? I haven't seen the mtagwa fight yet, but it must be tough to get motivated for that fight when you've had Caballero calling you out for 6 months and great fighters like Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez have mentioned that they'd like to fight you at some point. It's no a win situation really. I think after the Gerry Penalosa fight he should have been stepped up in competition.
You are right that's what happens when you fight no name fighters, you can end up taking them lightly but a great fighter should never take anybody lightly. :good
I think this was a positive fight for him. It gave him many new training/experience points, on so many levels that a fight he would've finished in one round in KO fashion wouldn't have given him. My opinion of the kid does not change. This is just another stepping stone fight in to a potential great career for a good up and comer. As far as who he should fight first, Arum is right on point putting him against a warm-up for his next fight. A fight like the one he had yesterday takes a lot out of you and needs extra recovery time (mentally). With the experience gained yesterday, he should own his next "warm-up" opponent. As far as shooting for the stars...he identified flaws within himself yesterday and he will need to work on them before he takes it to the next level. As much as we want to see Caballero in the mix, I honestly think Jaunma will not be able to fight him due to the weight issues. Caballero went after him too late.
WHAT??? Another warm-up? ... BTW, Caballero said he'd go to 126 if Juanma wanted.... no excuses here.... the best way for Juanma to get out of this mess is come out and tell everybody he obviously needs more time to make some adjustments for some obvious flaws that came up and so he's not ready 4 the Caballero fight yet! Not mentioning CABA won't do the trick!!
His fans don't need to worry. Every fighter has off nights...when youve been as impressive as hes been, it's excusable. He took on a unheralded, tough fighter and didn't take him serious enough. He won however, and proved he has qualities we didn't know, so there are lots of positives.
