Julian Jackson v.s Gerald MCclelan: More Punching Power?

I really don't think there is any comparison. McClellan was just bigger fighter who would starve himself so he could bully smaller opponents. Jackson was a natural 154 pounder who moved up and still have nuclear power in his fists.

 

Not saying Jackson's chin was great, but it was better than someone like Terry Norris.

but in all his loses (6) all of them ended in shamefull knockouts. :-(
if the hawk had a solid chin he would've been the real deal

 

If Jackson had even an average chin, he would be great. He just couldn't handle power.

I think prime 154 tommy had a better right hand punch than either.
Jackson never knocked out a great durable fighter. Nor did macca.

 

How many durable fighters did Shavers knockout? Or Foreman?

That is a bad criterium. More often than not, the best chin usually holds up against the hardest punch.

 

Yes,that criteria doesnt always work,but knocking out a durable fighter holds a lot more water than stopping lesser chinned fighters. Hurting or knocking down durable or bigger men also holds weight.
Why i made that point is that hearns is overlooked sometimes at 160,yet he actually stopped durable and bigger guys,something which g man and jackson didnt do.
However,both g man and especially jackson are great punchers.
ps; foreman stopped frasier twice,i class frasier as durable. (he also beat chuvalo inside.)

 

G man had a more consistent power in his punches but I think Jackson had more power in total.
