    I wonder how it went from this to Chavez being generally regarded as a face first fighter.

    I've seen this. He was such a natural, technique seemed easy to hone for him.

    ...I onced used him as an example of fighters taking too many shots to the head and coming out okay after his career.


    ...Which is to say I was absolutely clueless.

    Chavez showed great head movement in his prime & showed you can have defense even while coming forward. I've become a fan of him like a week ago but always was an admirer of his style. Great fighter.

    :lol:Agreed. If anything really hurt him it was backing up without putting both hands up to protect himself and he got caught by a Mccallum left hook.
