I don't really think there were ever pressure fighters like Chavez who had a very good defence. Duran and a few others. They're just the rare kind of guys that you only have 1 or 2 in a generation and sometimes 0.
Chavez was so picture perfect as a pressure fighter/boxer-puncher, I'm currently erect in a non-homosexual way.
I LOVE how he timed Taylor with that left hook in their rematch, such a beautiful shot. ^ That and when he floored Jose Luis Ramirez with a hard right hand counter backing up against the ropes are probably my two favorite punches ive seen from Julio.
Brawler? You do see him think in the ring right??Maybe a smart brawler if there is such a thing.Chavez skill is vastly underrated Good offense great combos a volume puncher with very underrated defense & great counter puncher as well(solid footwork, great body/head movement & of course that infamous granite chin of his.Don't know what was better his chin or heart, probably both.
Which is what made Kellerman's comment of "he's doing things that are reminding more and more of his father" totally laughable.
El Gran Campeeooon Mejicanooo, Juulio Ceesaaaar Chaaveeeez! So underrated now. He's the best I've ever seen and I've followed boxing from 1980 to present! Great video piece Addie! :bbb:good
