You may be right Freddy, It might be a good idea to just get the all the Chavez boys to fight in the US instead of in Mexico.......

I dont know why, but its clear to me that Mexican fans in Mexico are just not sofisticated enough to voice there displeasure without getting unruly.

The word drunks is likely the reason. I've never been to a sporting event in Mexico, but something tells me that there are'nt any laws or guidelines there about beer limits or serving beer to drunks.

.....and the Chavez incident this past Saturday is'nt the first time the Mexicans in Mexico loudly booed a Chavez.
A few months back in one of Chavez Jrs. undercards, the other Chavez, Omar Chavez got loudly booed when he got a decision in a competitive fight.
Omar looked amatuerish and wild, but scored with the much harder shots.
It seems to me that in Mexico, whenever a Chavez gets tested and the fight goes to the cards, pandamonium breaks loose if the decision goes to a Chavez.
Its almost like here on ESB, the haters are out in full force claiming robbery anytime someone does so much as compete against Chavez Jr.

These boys have to be given time to grow, but it looks like in Mexico, the fight fans dont see it that way. They want those boys to deliver now, or they'll let them know about it!

Agreed Freddy, those boys should not fight in Mexico anytime soon.
I'm sorry, but I am someone that grew up in the 80's going to Dodger games as a young teenager watching the prime of Fernando Valenzuela's career.

This is just an example of how alot of Mexicans are of the attitude of what have you done for me lately.......
Americans (white gringos) just loved and appreciated Fernando Valenzuela. They'd applaud him off the mound even if he had an off night.
Something that stuck with me seeing the Valenzuela era pass by, is that Mexico born Mexicans were Valenzuala's harshest critics. I routinely saw when Valenzuela had an off night, grown Mexican men in their 40's and older yell and scream as Valenzuela was taken out of a game and walk off the mound, "go back to Mexico Viejo Panzon (fatso)......
It is a what have you done for me lately attitude that Mexicans have toward their stars or future stars.

I honestly dont mind for any Chavez boy to get booed (mentally it could toughen those boys up), but throwing things into the ring and nearly causing a riot is taking it to far.

You make a really good point. Jr might need a big hard ass ***** of a trainer to get the most out of Chavez Jr. But the plight of the Chavez Jr trainer is exactly the same as the plight of Chavez Jr. How can you be your own man in the presence of Chavez Sr. Chavez Sr will always be telling his son what to do and Chavez Sr. will always be the one sticking his head between the ropes when the fight is on the line, giving his son the business. As a trainer how could you tell Chavez we are going to do it this way if Chavez Sr. said it was going to be done another way? Or could you ever tell him "shut up **** off I'm trying to talk to my fighter here"? Maybe Chaez has to move towns and set up with Nacho or something. Or maybe Chavez Sr. blowing the wind up his son's arse will be enough. I don't know.

Chavez Sr. is too emotionally attached to be the right person yelling instructions at his son.
.....any trainer worth his salt would have made sure that Jr. was listening to him and not anybody else, not even Chavez Sr.
......believe me, if Buffalo Martin were alive today (he trajically died in a car accident) ...Buffalo would be right in Jrs. face making sure he had his undivided attention.

I dont know about setting shop with Nacho....if Chavez were to hook up with Nacho, he'd have to start from square one and build Jr. up from scratch.

Its not going to happen because of the language barrier......but Freddy Roach has done wonders with squeezing everything he could from Manny Pacquiao.
Chavez seems to be a born aggressive puncher, and he could learn a thing or two at the hands of Freddie Roach who seems that as a trainer, can adapt and work with any style of fighter.

Freddie has worked great with the ultimate aggressor in Pacquiao, and he worked a miracle with a born counterpuncher, keeping James Toney sharp in the latter part of his career.
