Tito looked ready to go against Vargas, Campas and Carr from what I remember, if Norris is in the other corner he may well go. Lets not forget Trinidad could be pretty easy to outbox. I certainly wouldn't bet my last dollar on Norris but I'd favour him. I also believe he needed big fights to rise to the occasion
Im a Norris fan but i really cant see him getting by Tito, he would have to put on a Brown 2 type performance to beat Trinidad imo. Of coarse Norris could knock Tito out but id give this one 60/40 in Trinidad's favour.
He was not anywhere near to going against Carr or Campas. It's true that Vargas had him in some trouble though. Tito was pretty hard to put away in any case. No one did it without a protracted beatdown so I don't think Terry would wipe him away early either, even if he does hurt him badly. IMO, Tito is a step up in class from anyone Norris beat considering the stages he beat the fighters he did. Norris is a step up from the likes of Vargas as far as skills go, but his chin is probably worse. I just think it's much more likely that Norris' chin goes before Tito goes away. A 12 round decision seems remote at best, though Norris would most likely take it if it got that far.
As good as Chavez was he wouldn't be able to handle Norris. Norris was bigger (height, reach, weight), stronger (punched harder), and he was faster (hands and feet). Norris was great at 154, Chavez was great at 140. Norris by clear decision or late round TKO.
Trinidad vs. Norris almost happened. When it was being talked about I was leaning toward Trinidad but rooting for Norris. Norris definately has a good chance of winning.
I like Tito but he's over-rated. Even young Gamboa, lacking experience at the top level as he is, has as much ability as a pure puncher as Tito ever did in my eyes, although he has similar limitations.
This could have been 1 of the most brutal beat downs of all time,I see Norris taking all the guys that were mentioned, but they all had the power to stop Norris, except for Chavez at these weights, although they all had the power to take Norris out, none of them has seen a complete offensive arsenal Terry had.I actually favor Mosely to have the best chance because of his speed and strength, and he may have been able to take Terry's bombs, the more interresting fights with Norris for me would be Curry and Forrest, and Benitez all for different reasons.
Norris could possibly beat Tito if he fought smart but Norris was a repeat offender when it came to fighting dumb. 3 DQ losses,a needless scare against Troy Waters, and a thrashing by Simon Brown when he clearly didn't respect Brown's power or ability speaks volumes about his habit of letting his emotions get in the way of his professionalism. Trinidad was dangerous when hurt and showed great recovery skills whereas Norris once hurt generally stayed hurt (the Waters fight excepted) and I'd expect the ever patient, controlled stalker in Trinidad to eventually find and finsh that shaky Norris chin, probably around the 8th round.
