Witter's performance is disgraceful. Promised so much and let the fans down. I personally was not surprised as I had seen his weaknesses which the right type of fighter would expose. Imagine what Ajose Olusegun would have done to him. Perhaps people will now see why we have been so keen to take out Sister Witter for years.I really hate for any fighter to be called "a" quitter but Witter has ended his career in ignomy.How can you quit in "a" WBC title fight?
It's all too easy to throw cheap remarks around. The sad thing about the whole situation is that both Witter & Hatton missed the boat to make the fight when they were relevent to the rest of the world.
No just saying what people with half a brain have always known. Witter is/was a good fighter but a b-level champion. His glorious ko stretch a few years back came against either smaller or inept people mainly Africans and a few europeans. After that he fought Ndou in a close fight (a good win), and he beat a shot to **** b-level champion in Demarcus Corley. He then defended it against Arturo Morua who is a mexican journeyman and looked awful and against another b-level champion in Harris. When he actually fought a live opponent he lost against Bradley and was awful throughout the fight. He then came back looking "better than ever" against an Argentinian roadsweeper, and then fought another live opponent in Alexander and lost. For all the people who want to degrade Hattons achievements need to look at their own boys first. On the other hand it is a shame that Witter lost, with Hatton virtually finished a win could have put him on the map with the British public and a fight with Khan.
So Witter the 'Real' fighter and consumate professional blew his big chance 'again' and quit. Just ****ing laughable how people on here bang on about him being for real and not overated like Hatton. One thing that Hatton has managed to do continually that Witter doesn't seem able to do is entertain people and was 'never' afraid to go out on his shield.:nono One small consolation, no one outside of boxing will have any idea Witter quit where as the whole world knew Hatton got knocked out by the P4P best in the world twice.
I would suggest that the ring post and Pacs peachy left hand had more to do with Ricky being carried out feet first than his heart did.
Lads it half and half really. Hatton would have carried on you can guarantee that :deal But also your forgetting Heart gets who hurt in boxing (especially when your a limited come forward fighter who's drained yourself to make weight for over 8 years) :deal
I am not here to debate the Hatton versus Witter match up that never happened which is irrelevant as regards what happened yesterday. What is key is the lack of resolve Witter showed again when up against live opponent in Devon the Great Alexander. I actually have "no" joy in saying this. In many ways he is almost in the same position as Maccarinelli where retirement may be the only viable option.
