How can you say he is over protested, he got thrown in with Zab Judah at short notice who was number 1 in his division before he had even fought European level!!!

You can;t really gague his ability becasue he has been avoided by anyone and everyone at 140lbs for the past 5 years. Ok his showing agaisnt Judah was awful, but he took that fight a a weeks notice and had not had enough fights to go in there with him.

It would be like putting Berto of 2 years ago in with Cotto or Mayweather now, you reckon he would last 12 rounds.

I believe you are talking about two different guys.

Lovemore N'Dou- the guy that Witter fought
Phillip N'Dou- the guy that Mayweather fought

Some people will just never "get" Witter. It's his unorthodox style, who wants to fight him?

From a fans point of view, it depends which version turns up. He was great against Harris, flashbacks of Naz. He can be a right spastic though, and turns it into a chess match for no apparent reason

    WITTERS BEAT 4 TOP10 CONTENDERS!!!!

Harris - ex-champ, murderous punchers, dominated and destroyed

Ndou - gave Cotto a tough fight and got robbed against Mitchell. Witter put him down twice before breaking his hand, Cotto couldnt do it once!!!

Kotelnik - would later be robbed in a WBA title fight

Corley - ex belt holder, Witter wins every round

Lynes - became European champ after Witter beat

Hattons ducked Witter for 7 years

    Underrated.

He's not unbeatable but I'd rate him odds on against anyone at the weight, Hatton included.

He's perfectly capable of cleaning the division out if given the chance.

I've never liked Witter and have seen him in some seriously poor fights over the years (Colin Lynes was unlucky in their bout) but he cannot be dismissed in any way.

I can see the Hatton fight happening now, it is plain to see Hatton needs to get amongst the Light Welterweights and Witter is directly in his path, dare I say that Hatton might actually need a fight with Junior Witter now.

Witter is VERY dangerous on the counter but a pumped up Hatton would overwhelm him imo.

Witter has a **** promoter so he will never get unifications, promoters would be better of getting them easiar fights as all the yansk see in witter is WBC!

Lovemore is the better of the N'Dous!

good fighter but has such an odd style it cant make fights ugly. Good power when hes on song tho im still undecided how hard he hits. He would give hatton trouble but i think physically Hatton would be too strong for Junior and would cramp him for space and punish him. that said Junior is a proper fighters its a fight that should be made (and probably wil be by the end of next year)

    The Judah argument is faded.

We know the circumstances of that fight, and the Junior of nowadays beats ANY version of Zab.

He is not overrated, he is underrated. He beats Torres, Rees & Paulie. He could beat Ricky.

I for one love watching his fights, he has great technique, some of you are all about the blood & pace, don't appreciate the finer things.

I don't believe that Hatton v Witter would ever end in one or the other being "destroyed". What I do believe is that Hatton is still a very competent and dangerous fighter at 140. Losing to the P4P #1 at 147 taught him a lesson, and I expect he'll come back strongly over the next few fights.

What I also believe is that Hatton will not take this fight on for several reasons (or until some of the following are resolved):

    1. It's a no win fight for Hatton at this moment in time. If he wins, people will just go "meh - expected", if he loses, then it's "meh - expected".

    2. It's a no-money fight. Hatton has good earning potential in the US right now, whilst Witter doesn't. Hatton has every right not to stamp Witter's food-ticket.

    3. Hatton won't take Witter until he has at least 2 victories under his belt. His loss will have injured him somewhat, and despite his humour/humor, he will want to put some changes in place against weaker fighters first. It may also be wise for Witter to let him heal a little first, as proding an injured Hatton may turn out to be not-so-clever.

If this fight is made, then it'll be at the end of 2008 at the earliest.
