He's not a real world champion though is he? The only people who are pretending he is (even though they really know he's not), outside of Fwank and Cleverlys camp, are the those who are using it to complain about his quality of opposition.
This is where the problem lies for me. There is a massive conflict in interest. Fighters need exposure and profile building - they need to sell tickets by being in the public eye. Boxnation isn't in the public eye. It's known amongst hardcore fans, who know a mismatch when they see one. Tyson Fury can fight whoever he wants on channel 5, because even if all of the hardcore fans grumble and say it's a mismatch, the general public still get to see him and he raises his profile. Cleverly fights unknown fighters on an unknown channel and gets no public attention, and no attention from the hardcore fans because they understand the chronic mismatching. You'd have to pay me £10 a month to watch him fight the Krasnarpencys of this world. If he wanted the best for British Boxing, he'd have signed Bellew up for a rematch. Two big British fighters, a good platform for a promotion and interesting to both the public and the hardcore, would have raised the profile of both fighters, made them more money in the longterm.
Stop Pretending your a **** bloke that no one likes that owns a **** tv channel no one wants to watch. Of all the people you could pretend to be on the internet, you choose to pretend to be Frank \/\/arren. atsch
The thing is as well, which Boxnation can't seem to grasp, its not like I wont get to see a fight if I don't subscribe, I was fair and gave Boxnation a chance.
Ta. I'm not defending these fights, the last one and this one are poor but to demand he's matched like a real world champ because he's got the WBO belt is giving the belt and the holder a little too much credit within the Light Heavyweight division. Cleverly only seems to be regarded as a real world champ in BoxNation matchmaking discussions.
I've had enough myself and I'll probly cancel in 3 months time, we finally get a Chanel that's dedicated to boxing and whats happened far too often, either **** opponents announced or fights being called off, the euro stuff that gets added hasn't been a problem at all, the mugging of us subscribers lies in the hands of vvarren! Buncey's boxing our started off well but even on his show there's plenty off him bigging up **** fights as if we're idiots and there's plenty of question dodging going on aswell, you can't polish a turd.
Charming. Seriously though, I don't blame Bill. It's all very well saying boxing is a business and that prospects need to take it one step at a time, but there comes a point when they need to stop fighting no hopers. I'm not asking Clev to fight Hopkins, but a Bellew rematch would be good. The guy has had 24 fights for ****s sake.
Didn't know I could get it on a month-by-month basis as a Virgin Customer but on principle I still doubt I will order it. It shouldn't matter whether I am Sky or Virgin, as soon as I read about the 6-month **** it put me off. :verysad
Everybody should have had a choice on a month to month basis, that way Boxnation would be under pressure to make decent fights to keep the viewer. Once they had people on a 6 month deal they could pretty much do what they want and have done. Its a real shame in a way.
