They haven't really delivered on what they said they were going to do (shock horror) and with the lack of an advertising platform I think they'll struggle to really make it work. Must admit though, part of the reason I didn't subscribe is because I can't stand Frank ******, and think it's a desperate attempt to finance the deals that he dished out three years ago, rather than a ''provide a better service for the fans'' venture.
Yep I think your right, as soon as Sky didn't want to do PPV Frank left and went this route, coincidence I think not. This is probably the reason his matchmaking is so dire, cheap opponents, less payout, fans are mugs, they will believe what ever I say.
BN is easily worth £10 to me, but maybe I'm easily pleased. The quality of fights delivered on BN is not a problem with BN solely. You'd have these regardless of whether the channel was here or not. Poor match-ups were around before BoxNation, and even before Frank himself.
Its the same with the cancellations and pull outs. They are a part of boxing generally but when it happens on a BoxNation card it seems to be regarded as primarily a BoxNation issue.
That's true and there will always be dodgy match ups, there are too many at the moment though and Im fed up of it, Sky have put there foot down a bit it seems, which is a good sign while Boxnation are getting worse imo.
I can understand why you're frustrated with it, I think we all are, but I've come to terms with that side of the sport and it doesn't really influence my decision of whether I subscribe to BN or not. Just my feelings on it mate. :good
No that's fair enough mate, it wasn't a straightforward decision for me but I really can't see the channel getting any better in the near future. :good
Yes poor match ups were around and they were also being flogged as PPV on Sky, I dont know the ins and outs but Sky said they werent doing anymore PPV especially for **** match ups that FWP was trying to put on. FWP falls out with Sky starts his own channel and continues to make **** match ups, Sky's boxing seems to have improved since he left.
It's the regularity with which they happen on Boxnation that's the issue, it just seems to happen more often than not. We were promised 2 cards a weekend and I think most folks knew that wasn't likely to happen...but most of us would have been happy to have had 1 card a weekend every weekend.
I will add, money has been a little tighter lately and this has probably influenced my lack of patience with Boxnation, but it is Franks match making that is my major gripe. In his interview today he was going on about a unification fight in the summer, when he has no intention of making it, he's trying to insult my intelligence (not hard I know) you have the Mandatory problem and everybody knows he is lining up Enzo. Its really pissing me off.
in all fairness you cant really blame vvarren for feeding bums to clev, anything more and he loses and the clev macca fight is down the shitter
