Yes, for a total of 29 meaningful punches per round. Instead of for an entire fight. By a reasonable calculation that makes Wlad's fights on average 12 times more interesting that the Haye/Valuev fight. Not that we can judge a guy from one fight. It's just kinda hilarious when contrasted against his statements of how exciting he is; and his fan's reaction like he is the new Messiah.
Maybe Haye actually threw hundreds of punches that were simply too fast for the human eye to see. He is after all the savior of the division, so it's perfectly within reason.
would be a fair comment if he does this when he fights another 7ft giant who holds a 100lb weight advantage. Haye has one slightly dull fight (the size difference and intrigue kept it interesting for me personally) and Wlad has a career full of them, hardly a worthwhile comparison - that's aimed more at Chef by the way
Full of them? ..This point is discussible. Wlad had a lot of exciting fights in his career, i'm sure, even according to your standards. But the main difference is, wlad does not run his mouth like Haye does, and after fails to pay promise. That makes him that much criticizable. :deal
When did I even mention or compare it to Wlad? all I said was 29 total punches over 12 rounds just doesn't seem like enough to take a mans belt away. Everytime I say the fight was boring, Haye fans say "Well Wlad has boring fights also".......OH, OK:roll:
Wlad averages 60 punches a round get out of here with hat garbage. Face it Haye stunk the joint out because he ran and was scared to actually fight. In Wlad's worst fight (Ibragimov) he threw 4 times as many punches as Haye did. Valuev vs Haye made Wlad vs Ibragimov look like Ali vs Frazier.
Lets talk about that Ibragimov fight. What the hell was Wladimir supposed to do? Ibragimov was leaning so far back in an obvious trap to catch Wladimir leaning into his punches that Wladimir really should not have been throwing so many punches. But he did anyway, and scored dozens of punches in each and every round. So he didn't throw the right enough that night. Again, that would have placed Wladimir in an extremely off balanced position and left him right open for Ibragimovs' counter hook. Ibragimov's plan was to win rounds via knock downs. His team knew that was the only way to win and to score on Wladimir. They didn't expect for Wlad to over extend the jab to the point that he did and still be able to avoid Ibragimovs' counters. Now look at the Haye Valuev fight and you have a totally different fight. Haye had the advantage in speed, power, mobility, boxing skills and youth. And yet, even with all those attributes, he avoided engaging Valuev for 12 rounds, ran from him, and threw a total of 29 punches. To compare Wladimir's "most boring" fight to Hayes' is just down right stupid. Wladimir clearly came to fight and sought out his opponent in the ring, while Haye clearly came to survive and was content throwing an average of two punches per round.
