That fight with Marvelous should have taken place 3 years before it did. Hagler was past his prime. SRL had a long lay off but he was still fresh. Hagler got out danced but he didn't lose ****. My 3 year old son can take those little ****ing punches ray was connecting with. I admit Sugar did say I wasn't going to satnd and fight him straight out so at least he admitted to running. All in all yes he is still a great one but not all time great he was kind of over rated.

Sugar Ray Leonard is the number 2 Welterweight of all time and is a shoe in for top 10 ATG. Both in resume and H2H ability.

Do I really need to answer that?????????????? Again I still think he was a great fighter. I was sad when Terry Norris killed him.

Yes you do. He "ran" against Hagler and who else?

He was 35 years old and way past his prime when he was beaten by Norris :good

No **** he was over the hill. Just like Haagler was against him. I am not saying he was prime against Norris. I said I was sad when he got killed by him. Yes I was talking about the Hagler fight when I said he ran too much. A fight like that only happens once in a lifetime and we were robbed of a good fight by his ****ing sprinting. So before you say someting you should read it well. I never said he was prime against Norris. Just read it next time it might serve you better.

 Why are you so worked up chill.

    So he "ran" against Hagler?
If that is it then he hardly "ran to much" did he?

He beat 3 other ATG's in Benitez, Hearns and Duran all at WW who apart from Robinson could you have above him in terms if resume. Plus Hagler at MW. Either the number 1 or 2 MW ever.

Hagler was more in his prime than Leonard was for the Norris fight. Hell Hagler was undefeated for 11 years previously and Leonard was moving up in weight.

    196osh,

I agree with you SRL is one of the best. I believe he is in the top 3 in the all time greats in his division.

There were few instances/circumstances that might favor him but to some poeple they will make it SO BIG just to down play SRL greatness. Simply put no boxer can please everybody.

I can't believe anyone could hate on Leonard, must be 'boxrec' posters, they weren't around when he fought and have no ****ing clue just how good the man was in his day and just how good his competition level was.

Criticising him for not going toe to toe with Hagler is just about as ****ing moronic as it gets - Leonard was a massive underdog in that fight and most people didn't think he'd make it past the 3rd round. Instead he produced a stunning display and beat a top 2 all time middleweight.

Ah, but he didn't KO him, so he must have been a bum, right :nut

For the Floyd lovers, what a ****ing bum Floyd is, ran from over the hill De La Hoya all night and only got a SD, right?

Let it also not be forgotten that DLH as a 160 fighter is not even on the same planet as Hagler at 160, Hagler would murder DLH, literally beat the living **** out of him.

I actually like Mayweather but damn some of his fans are ****s.

The thing you ingrates fail to realize is that Leonard had MANY haters before Floyd even got put on the pedestal. Those same haters are the ones saying Floyd cant hold a candle to Leonard. A Mayweather fan IS a Leonard fan. Leonard was scrutinized in his day for not fighting this person and that person when THEY wanted him to. These clowns need to stop acting like they are leonard fans. Leonard was considered a cherry picker throughout his career. Though he fought nothing but the best. He was not that active of a fighter. There were many guys they wanted him to fight, same as floyd. The thing is Floyd does not have that many BIG NAME, HIGH RISK, BIG MONEY fights out there but the ones he fought already. Cotto is his only missing link. So shut this crap up.
