I was a big fan of Moorer's, he showed a lot of guts in his fights and they were always exciting. It was just that chin. I was so gutted for him in the Foreman loss. The man had serious skills and power. He never really became what he should have.

Too bad he was a little bulky for a long-term relationship with 175. His chin was better there.

The Allen and in particular Stewart fights suggest to me Hill and Williams would of beat him. And I would have put money on Harding to beat him. Andries would have had a sniff too, but Moorer probably would have won a war.

I would`ve loved to see Moorer fight all those guys you mentioned personally out of the bunch I see him beating all of them aside from Lewis and a prime Tyson or Bowe. Though all the big hitters like Ruddock, Bruno, Morrison and Rahman could potentially catch him and knock him out but more then likely just down. I also think Mercer could perhaps beat him because it would be an all out war if they fought and I think Mercer could potentially get to him late. But my money would be on Moorer in all those match ups aside from against the big three.

There was little natural about him being a lightheavy.

Wait Wait you are going to say Moorer couldn't care a heavyweight punch because he was a natural 175 pounder then will say Marciano could take a heavyweight because he was 180 pounder? Racist white guy logic huh?

Really good fighter but not great.

He was really lucky to fight Holyfield when he had heart problems, and this is why he gets overrated.

I admit his fights were exciting, though I find it difficult to call a fighter great if he is down against every semi-decent opponent. He went life and dead with Bert Cooper, was KO'd by Foreman (when George was too slow to KO anyone else - Morrison, Stewart or Schulz) and was down on a couple of occassions as well.

Gregor every time Holyfield lost he tried to blame something. The fight was legit and Holyfield lost. Bert Cooper also gave Holyfield and Mercer tough fights so your point is? Foreman knocked Stewart down and let him excape. Schulz had a good chin and ran most of the bout. Morrison also ran.

Moorer fought Foreman like a man and lost like a man.

Cool lil diddy about Moorer...When he first met Mike Tyson he was still campaigning at 175. With no need to introduce himself, Moorer was in the same room with Tyson, who said, "Hey you're the guy knocking everybody out. Now there are two bad Mike's. I gotta take a picture with you!" Moorer went on to say that both of them ARE bad but he keeps it to himself whereas Tyson is more expressive.

What I meant is that Moorer is not the same league as Holy, Lewis or Tyson (and a couple of more fighters from 90s).

Apart from knockdown, Cooper lost every round against Holy and later rounds were quite one sided (Cooper showed a lot of heart there, but even he seemed to be relieved when the referee finally stopped the one-sided beating the fight finally turned into). Not quite the same as Moorer-Cooper which was really close till the end, with both fighters down twice.

True, Holy usually found a way to explain his losses, but it does not mean they were all false... he was hospitalized after the fight, and even announced retirement afterwards, so I am willing to believe he was not 100% fit. Especially after watching the rematch.

As to Foreman - fighting "like a man" someone who lost everything but power (and chin) is just extremely unwise strategy. At this point fighters worse than Moorer were able to outpoint George.

Holyfield has used countless ailments as an excuse a loss or subpar performance

He did look bad in the first Moorer fight, he had an off-night, but I really do believe he was suffering from the effects of HGH.

His symptoms were consistent of HGH use, but the NSAC didn't test for it. All they did was ask Holyfield if he took it. Of course he said no, and that was that

He was very good, an excellent all round offensive fighter with a strange right handed southpaw style. People often criticize his chin but he only got stopped by great punchers, Michael's biggest weakness were those clown-size flat feet.

I rank him #5 of the 90's heavyweights, behind Tyson, Bowe, Lewis & Holy.
