I don't. Mayweather was pressing for the knockout at the end. However, he's simply not going rush in face first, Pacquiao style, to try to get a KO. He seemingly always fights with a sense of caution. Furthermore, Marquez is a tough son of a *****. He's never been stopped.
Na I still think Castillo II is Floyds best performance and win. Both in their primes, Floyds took care of business erasing doubts. From B level fighter evolving to all around elite Castillo was a helluva lightweight underrated as hell. Lets be real Jmm was at his career worst shape facing Floyd. He'd lose again, but at least he's more adapted to welterweight and has a better chance to shock Floyd. In the older days of boxing fighters had a clear win over an opponent, faced them years later, only to get the shock of their life finding out the opponent is a different fighter now. Yes and no. If he went completely out of his way to launch all out assaults, I do believe the ref or corner would have stopped it. But I don't think he could've dropped JMM multiple times and have him stumbling around the ring. He def wanted the rounds in. Didn't get aggressive in round 2 at all (or no more than any other round). If that KD happened in round 7? Maybe he would've gunned for it more.
Marquez was still alert and looking for counter opportunities. Floyd and Marquez is like those samurai a in old Japanese movies where the two master samurai will line up against one another and one samurai looks at the other and says his stance leaves no openings. That's basically what Mayweather was looking at. There was no one strike openig to end the fight. For Floyd to go for the ko hed have to open himself up and he isn't the type to do that. I think Floyd tried his best within the confines of his style to get the stoppage but Marquez isnt the type to go down easy and is most dangerous when hurt ask Pacquiao
I think Floyd carried Marquez. He's walked down bigger, stronger, heavier handed fighters. i think he just wanted to get rounds in after 18 months off.
