Yes I have and both fights are hard to watch. Watson's corner had no business sending him back out. The guy was clearly not all the way there and it was a damn shame.:-(
A really dreadful referee , Benn was and is one of my favourite fighters , but shouldnt have made it out of the 1st round. It wasnt the knock down , but the ref pulling Mclellen away for punching!!!! Disgraceful, but not Benns fault.
Benn sent a man into a horrible retirement by constantly barraging him to the back of the head with power shots. I
There's a belief that G-Man went into the fight with brain issues as he had complained of frequent headaches since the first Jackson fight. He was also a notorious weight cutter which doesn't help matters. Then again, lots of people get headaches and it doesnt mean they have brain damage. Who knows really? I hate this fight and I hate Eubank-Watson 2. Arguably the two best SMW fights ever (Liles-Littles 2 is up there) and they ended terribly.
If you want to see a powershot on the back of the head watch James Toney throw one behind Micheal Nunns head which was pretty digraceful as he was on the way to a ko.Still,Benn was rabbit punch mad against Gerald.
I was just about to comment on that and I'm surprise there was never a warning for those rabbit punches in which I believe it significantly took a toll in the fight
I think McClellan brought that injury into the ring, but obviously the punishment he absorbed made it worse. Sort of the epitome of boxing the better the sport gets, the worse it gets. And the referee should be singled out in the Eubank/Watson tragedy as well. Literally having to pull the guy into the center of the ring probably should have tipped him off that something was wrong. It's tough for me to watch either of these. Showtime also acted disgracefully by airing Benn/McClellan in the United States already knowing the result. They at least should have edited the ****ing commentary.
Obviously, this fight had a tragic ending and boxing has come a long way, but I've always been of the opinion that a fighter should use dirty and illegal tactics if they can get away with it. Of course, doing so runs the risk of losing points and a disqualification. Knowing when and how far to push it is the key. Bhop is a master of walking that fine tight-rope. Maybe Tyson put it best: "Well **** it... it's a fight, whatever happens, happens."
No way, really? I hate rabbit punches, always feel that all of them thrown by that white trailer trash ****** chuck wepner caused ali's parkinson to get speeded up
I don't know if they are but listen to the commentators **** watch the Froch Dirrell fight seems they rabbid punches get a pass over there ..
