Inoue destroys all your boxing idols He was fighting one of the sports premier KO artists in Nonito with a broken orbital socket and double vision in his eye from round 2 onward Inoue's win over Nonito was sandwiched between these two KO performances from the later Euthanizing Stephen Young out cold in HL reel fashion with a biblical left hook from hell This content is protected And baptizing WBC champ Norbaali who is a damned good fighter himself in four rounds This content is protected I'd rather watch Inoue spar than watch most other fighter's fights This content is protected
He looked great against aggresive fighters but against other boxers he struggled. I think hes overrated.
I somewhat agree with this. It's true that Inoue has been ridiculously overhyped to circlejerk levels, and his resume recently has been poor. But he is a still a top 3 p4p fighter imo, 86% career KO ratio between 108 and 118 lbs is extremely impressive, and he has one-shot KO power. It's clear to see just with the eye test that he's supremely skilled. I think Inoue still would have beaten Donaire prime for prime, although it would have been a closer fight. He's great, it's just that his resume over the past 2 years doesn't deserve the hype he currently gets.
There’s no point in bringing up the fact that Donaire scored his best win for a decade right after he was soundly beaten by Inoue because there’s a %99 chance Tinman had never heard about Oubaali and a %100 chance he’d never seen him fight and have no idea how good of a win he was.
It's tough to rate fighters that small because the talent pool is totally different than the rest of the sport. The western world really doesn't pay attention to anything below 126, and there has to be a marketable star in that division. There are really only a few opinion makers on the matter who are able to broadcast to a much larger majority who simply doesn't follow that corner of the sport. Look at Chocolatito. He looked great in a highlight video, and was surely a legit fighter. Still, much like Inoue he was being placed at #1 p4p for years. His reign crumbled against an unheralded Thai whose three fights before him were 0-0 debut fighters. This is kooky stuff that doesn't really happen in the rest of boxing, but does happen at these lower weight classes. Is Inoue legit? Sure. Probably, yeah. Are there enough knowledgable boxing fans who care enough about the lowest weight classes to make an informed majority decision? Probably not. I'm sure I'll get castigated for saying all this, but it's the truth. It is indeed possible to be a true fan of the sport and not care much for the smallest weight categories.
He's unreconstructedly masculine, freakishly strong and teakishly rugged, like a Joe Biden presidency.
What you are saying is very reminiscent of the toxic fanboys of Inoue's videos claiming Inoue's ducking and is a japanese turtle. I'd go out on a limb and say you're filipino and are probably looking at Casimero as your next messiah. Good luck and may the best fighter win. Not gonna attempt to disprove your statement as it is utter rubbish given how events have played out.
Inoue is the real deal. He battered Donaire down to what should have been a stoppage. The only fight he has been tested in and against an atg no less.
