Peterson won 3 or 4 clear rounds in my view. Fat Dan scored the fight 114-111 Khan And one judge at ringside scored it 115-110 Khan
The point I trying to make is the ref actions right or wrong cost Khan the fight. You lose your World titles nower days for pushing in a boxing match jokes
At the end of the day it was a close fight and even if one takes out any arguments about the ref, there are still plenty of others. The likes of whether Peterson's pressing work deserved more acknowledgement than Khan's back peddling, which a decent amount of fight was not fighting off the back foot but arguably quite simply could be classed as running. On top of that, it's funny how the judge who gave Khan so many rounds isn't under any question. I'd say that's more questionable than the referee. The bottom line is that it was a close fight, personally I think the right man on the night got the decision.
Yes, just as the ref cost Tyson the fight against Holyfield for not allowing him to bite more of his ear off. Khan repeatedly kept breaking the rules/cheating, got warned for it, yet carried on and on and on and on and on and on and on ... doing it and consequently got deducted a point for such. I really don't see the big deal.
Just like to say I got nothing on Peterson, congrats to him, I hope he enjoys being World Champion. He fought a tough fight.
He sure did, it was great to see. It clearly meant a lot to him. They both fought a tough fight, credit to them both.
