The odds alone is a win for Jr.
The fact that Chavez took the fight & called Sergio's bluff is a win.
Making all the haters look like assholes everytime he wins...

The beat down he serves Sergio on the 15th will be a cherry on top.

Many factors in this… Martinez looked like such a beast against P.Will the second and Pavlik, that any failure to emulate those highlight reel performances would be looked as a decline in form, which is what happened versus Macklin and Barker. This coincided with Pablo taking over head trainer duties from Gabriel.

This is in contrast to Chavez Jr. He looks like he improves from fight to fight. Against Manfredo he looked good boxing. Against Zbik and Rubio he closed the gap. Against Lee he knocked out a boxer.

I love the fight happening now… or even earlier in the year… as it's pick'em for me.

If you think Martinez is going to win-- you're better off betting Martinez to win by TKO or KO than betting the moneyline.

Because there's no way in hell that he's going to get a decision victory... it's just not going to happen with Bob Arum in the mix.

    Martinez by TKO, KO
    Chavez by 12 round decision

Two good bets... as long as the Martinez wager is in the plus, too.

JCC Jr used to be really shitty not that long ago. That's why. He seems MUCH improved skill wise and strong as an ox these days. Not gonna be easy for Sergio.

Martinez gets by on athletic talent. Have you ever noticed the way he holds his hands? He used to be a champion bicycle racer and he holds his hands exactly like he's riding a bicycle. Athletic talent will only get you by for so long, at some point, a polished fighter will beat you. This could be the fight where that happens.

The people who make the odds aren't just looking at the fighters. They're looking at the whole package, including how much chance there is that Jr will use PEDS, or cheat in other ways, and how much influence his team might have on the judges & ref.

With that in mind, I'm surprised Maravilla is even the favorite.

Pavlik toyed with a better version of Rubio and made him quit on his stool.
