just watched Calzaghe v Kessler again

    I agree David, Kessler was in his prime then, but Joe was still a level above him.

    Come on now, Ward is miles better than any version of Kessler, miles and miles better. Calzaghe would be interesting but I would pick Ward to beat him in a scrappy fight.

    Calzaghe on the cards for me v Ward would be a messy fight though the styles just wouldn't gel.

    I remember in the venue that night there was a feeling it was very close and Kessler could have nicked it.

    Watched it back on TV a week or so later and it was like a different fight. Joe won by a couple of rounds.

    Kessler was winning till he gassed clearly, then joe outvolumed him. basically a good win for joe, close but definitely a win.

    his best obviously, nothing he did ever came half as close.
