What a great HW fight.... its just sad that it had to end on a cut, it should have stopped ... the cut was terrible . But I just wish this could have kept going, could have been one of the greatest HW championship fights ever.
Sorry mate..... but this fight is brought up every week, even though I'm a massive Lewis fan it does get slightly boring And yeah of it kept on going.... Vitali's career may have been over

I disagwee with all the comments. If it had continued it would have lasted another 2 rounds tops. Both were exhausted but esp Lewis. That stoppage saved him bring knocked out.
I am not saying that it shouldn't have been stopped, it should have. I am saying that I wish that the cut had never happened in the 1st place.
lewis was on his way to being ex champ. when they stopped the fight vitali was buggin out cause he knew he was winning.
Been here, done that, but I still honestly believe VK was gonna KO an out of shape Lewis within the next few rounds. For Gods Sake, Lennox retired after that fight. Smart move by him, but what does that tell you?
It was one huge cut opened from the first punch Lewis threw in the 3rd round... thats it . The cut was caused from the angle at which the punch landed ( since VK was leaning back when it landed ) ... The cut just got bigger after that, but there was not 3-4 separate cuts caused from separate punches, thats just ******ed to say.
