I love how people will claim a brutal, dominating win for Lewis and excuse his performance with a slew of excuses in the same sentence.

****, that is a nasty cut. i forgot too that his cheek was busted up, i remember it was just the eyes. its not that often that you will see a cut on the cheek that big, above the eyes fairly common.

but on the cheek, **** that must have been a massive punch thrown by lewis to be able to do that.

    His performance needs no excusing.

He stopped the challenger at the half way point of the fight by using his fists. Fight won, pack your bags, go home.

**** the scorecards. They don't mean **** when a guy can't get past half way. Look at the damage Vitlay had to suck up to get his 1 swing round ahead. Was it worth it?

It's Vitlays fans making the excuses.

"He only lost because that mean bully Lewis kept hitting him in the face so hard."

Perhaps Vitlays fans should face up to the fact that he had Lewis in Round 2, and didn't have either the balls or the power to finish the job then. And after the cut, didn't have the power to stop Lewis like it was plainly obvious he was going to have to do.

Lewis didn't fight a very good fight technically. But he proved that if he stands toe to toe with Vitlay, and takes a punch to give a punch - he will win. Look at the punch stats. Vitlay landed a lot more punches, and inflicted a lot less damage.

Foreman was right though, during the fight its obvious to see that Lewis did not come into the fight in tip top shape. He should have taken the rematch and just trained harder... I don't think he would have lost to Vitali in the rematch if he would have actually come into the ring in great shape...

In boxing .... A good, well conditioned boxer beats a great, poorly conditioned boxer almost every time.

Vitali suddenly got brave after the fight was stopped. But during the last round he could barely do anything.

Lewis was a great, poorly conditioned boxer in that fight.

Does that mean that Vitlay (who was a well conditioned boxer in that fight) - is not a good boxer?

Vitali would have knocked Lewis out in the 7th round, Lewis was ready to go. Vitali stunned Lewis more than once in that fight, broke his nose. Even Max Kellerman said he had never seen Lewis flop down on his stool like that, Lewis was holding on to Vitali to keep from going down, he was saved from getting knocked out. Vitali should have been give on more round before they stopped it because of a cut. Vitali was ahead on he scorecards also. Lewis turned down huge money for a rematch, he retired rather than fight Vitali.

WBC said that Vitali is the greatest P4P puncher ever at heayweight!!!!!!! Vitali Vs. Gomez was sold out!!!!!!! 11.5 million watch the fight and 12,500 were at ringside live, again, sold out!!!!!!!

Vitali was more hurt in the sixth than Lewis was in the second. Lewis hit him with a short right hand, Vitali sagged and then he held on for most of the round. You say Lewis was ready to ge because he flopped down on his stool, Vitali staggered across the ring to his corner and then didn't notice the fight being stopped, had to do a double take. Vitali started very well but the tide had turned.

Putting either of those at the front of a sentence completely ruins anything that could ever possibly be typed after it. :tired
