Just watched Margarito/Cotto..... again.

i saw the same thing. you can see cotto actually jump in the air right after that to avoid another shot to the ribs. both feet left the ground. cotto will take the same punishment in a rematch unless his defence improves and if it does you can bet its going to look like running to a lot of people expecting a hard fought fight.

 

We'll see about that, I really don't think he's considered a boxer puncher for nothing. Sometimes people tend to ignore giving credit for certain fighters when they prove they can take a shot and usually blame the opponent for not punching hard enough. It's also related to timing and positioning in the ring, Forrest caught Mosley with a punch he didn't see coming and the rest is history.

It's your opinion in the end and since you're convinced Cotto can't punch then you have the right to think that way, I don't agree but we have said what we believe in and that's all there is to it. :thumbsup

 

I believe Cotto can punch, I never said that he couldn't...he just isn't as powerful as made out to believe that's all. We pretty much both agree that Cotto can punch, it's just a difference as to how hard that's all

 

Future fights should answer that more, depending how well he performs after his recent loss and if it has affected him mentally.

 

Cotto has a chance at winning and he did win rounds by simply outboxing the guy. I feel two things he should defintley think about in such a rematch is going to the body more and clinching. I'm not saying become john ruiz but if you are in danger or hurt at any point during the fight feel free to clintch, from a boxers perspective its apart of the game. Cotto should focos more on his body punching ability which was somewhat absent during the fight. I say box him like you did in the first fight (which resulted in winning rounds) while at the same time mix it up and go to the body to keep margarito guessing. If he can do those things he has just as good of a chance at winning than margarito.

 

Improve your stamina and get off the ropes will help his cause in the rematch.

i saw it that way too, from that point on, i was rooting for cotto, but i knew he was going to lose.

 

I've seen beatings before, and that was not a beating. AM just out toughed Cotto. The scores were close. He got to Cotto in the end. Some times damage can happen very quickly. It took juarez 1 round to rip Barrios lip up...

 

It's call body shot's son and will hurt him wrost if they fight:yep Margo is very sharp right now he just won back to back titles with 2 great PR fighter's.

clottey is alot stronger than both those puerto ricans and margo won basically because of his physical strength and size
