I am a fan of any type of MMA. I think the grappling adds another dynamic to a fight that brings the same excitement as any boxing match. They both can live together guys, and I for one can find time for both. Some of these guys can really do some great striking even when they are on the ground. I have seen some devastating shots coming from an elbow while they had the guy pinned down. I love any type of combat really.
no, just no. not one of these "great strikers" doesn't spin 360 degrees like an idiot after throwing a kick, which NOT A SINGLE PERSON TAKES ADVANTAGE OF. i'm not gonna make an "mma sucks" argument, but don't bull**** that there are "great strikers".
It sounds like the OP is talking about that UFC Fight Night that aired last night. The line up looked like garbage - so I didn't even bother watching it. Good call on suggesting the Shamrock/Baroni and Guida/Heurta fights. Those are both very entertaining bouts. Anybody that hates mma - or doesn't understand it should check out the original Griffin/Bonner match. That is the Gatti/Ward of mma fights.
The best kickboxers in the world will spin around after they miss a high kick, its often taught that way. Come back when you know what the **** you're talking about. More badass MMA for haters to enjoy. BJ Penn [yt]ZoW4qbwgWEw[/yt]
UFC is for homos. Let's see what happens when they put one of them chumps in the ring with someone like me.
GSP sometimes lay on people too much..I dodnt like his Koscheck fight where he was able to tackle him but werent able to do anything else. Everyone could finish Hughes at this point UFC 79 and 80 were great especially the latter..It was bad just prior to that..Its really a hit or miss at this point..Pretty much like boxing but only difference is Boxing is very much established while MMA could not afford to have so many Rashad/Bisping..Swick/Burkman fights
actually, no, no they don't. poorly americanized muay tai teaches you to do that, no other style (not savate, tkd, any of the thousands of kung fu styles, any of the karate styles, jeet kune do, pankration, silat, NONE OF THEM) doesn't teach you to counter-rotate your torso so you can snap your leg back and avoid leaving yourself vulnerable in a ridiculous pirouette. stop trying to pass off what you hear joe rogan say as 'knowledge', you know nothing about actual martial arts.
Thats why I said the best in the world, which almost always excludes savate, kung ****ing fu (lol), and tae kwon do (bigger lol). There is a reason the best kickboxers in the world are thai style. [yt]YJapdnJyyyM[/yt]
yeah moron, it's because that's all they ****ing do. there are literally thousands of thai boxers, so of course they are going to have the best. anyone who thinks that one martial arts style is inherently superior to another is borderline ******ed. individuals are good at fighting, styles (which are essentially ideas) don't fight anyone, individuals fight other individuals. moron.
Ok, take the absolute best tkd guy and have him fight a full contact fight with a muay thai guy. Pretty easy to see which is the better art for full contact fighting. Or is being some fake ass karate black belt better than a world champion boxer, or lumpinee stadium champ, or MMA champ? idiot.
