Just watched Williams Quintana

You want to see how open Williams is to right hands go watch his fight against Walter Matthysse. He couldn't miss Williams with a lead right hand. It was ridiculous! atsch

Williams isn't quite that easy to hit anymore though, but he's a southpaw and you know as well as I that a good right hand is a southpaw's worst nightmare.

williams is overrated

 

It was a bad night and IMO this was actually good for Paul. He showed up thinking he could sleepwalk and get the win. He didn't and he got beat plain and simple. He was able to get a rematch, he was focused, and he was ready to fight, and he won in one round. That loss was good for him and it was good for his career because he avenged it.

 

I like PW for the same reasons I like Cotto and Taylor. They go about their business for the most part in a quiet, respectful way. You don't have to be an arrogant ***** to gain recognition as a top fighter. Good luck to both Williams and Pavlik. I'm sure it will be a good show.

 

Its so obvious from pauls past and previous performances that he was not right in that fight..i mean he looked fantastic against winky.....point is everyone has a bad night, he is only human

 

Quintana fought the perfect fight. It was his night. Paul won't **** up like that again.

 

Paul had a really bad night, and Carlos picked that particular night to put on a once in a lifetime performance.

Like most people, I think highly of Paul Williams as a fighter but I just could not understand how he was unable to make the proper adjustments in the first Quintana fight. I mean he just had no answers and Quintana was landing from just about every angle possible. As far as the rematch is concerned, yeah, it was about as an emphatic a result as a guy looking for revenge can ask for but let's not go thinking that Paul Williams decided that he was gonna come out and win by 1st round stoppage. Quintana got caught and Williams took advantage. I know we're talking about less than 2 minutes worth of fighting before that but in that short period of time the fight had been fought on even terms and Quintana landed a couple nice shots. If you think I'm grasping at straws by pointing out the action before the KO then you're entitled to your opinion but I happen to be of the opinion that Quintana would have been just as competitive had he managed to avoid getting caught. I take nothing away from Williams cuz he's the one who took Quintana out.

 

It was definitely a bad night. If you have a bad night in basketball,football, etc, you can atleast get a sub. In boxing, you gotta get thru it

 

That's a pretty interesting way at looking at it.:thumbsup

But overall like a couple of other posters have said, Paul had a bad night and Carlos had a great one.
But P-Will avenged that loss in a way that every fighter would want to avenge a loss, it does'nt get any better than a 1st round knockout.
