so the only drawback to his career is he didn't fight everybody? you can't fight everyone, and any fighter you can name you could say he didn't fight so and so, whether it's a guy in a higher/lower class, a fellow alphabet champ or a up and comer when the guy's old, you can't fight everyone.
The drawback isnt that he didnt fight everybody...its he fought nobody. Its unrealistic to be able to fight absolutely everyone of your era but he barely even knocked off any of the second tier fighters in the divvy at the time, let alone the other champions or elites..apart from Pical who was a dictionary definition of a paper titlist. Ive been told he hardly ever even fought a top 10 ranked opponent..either they were in the 10-15 range or got mysteriously ranked just before he announced the fight them, a pretty stock standard WBA policy. Fine if some people want to rank Galaxy that high but why arent the guys who were doing essentially the same thing at the time not within cooee of him?
I got a few mates from China who dont really know anything about boxing but they said that Galaxy was still massive over that side of the world Plus he was the only boxer they had heard of, not even ali etc
I made a thread years back about him being the most overrated. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86112 The general consensus was that he was.
