Would be a great fight. Ancajas promised so much it seemed, but nothing that exciting has happened. Well, here's his big chance to dramatically impress. I guess I'll pick him to do so.
Man, people really holding the Chihuas fight against Ioka. Really think people are overstating that; Chihuas was a good fighter who knew this was his last chance and treated it as such, while Ioka had to deal with the false drug allegations and legal ramifications from the incompetent JBC. Until further fights, I'm writing that off as a one-off. Anyway, he slaps Ancajas around for 12.
Good fight. Honestly think Ancajas is capable of beating ioka. Just that his matchmaking his hella frustrating its hard to gauge how he would actually do against someone like ioka
Ioka will be in trouble if last fight was a sign of slippage as opposed to just a bad night at the office. He's a great fighter so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here.
There is also the question of, even if he is slipping, just how good is the opponent and how badly does Ioka need to have slipped to lose to him? I feel like Ancajas to a lot of people is still kind of a question mark at this level. His best few wins are roughly as good as some of Ioka's title defenses, but we know a good deal less about him than we do Ioka overall.
Yeah, not taking the last fight into consideration, I give him a significantly lower shot than Tanaka had going into his fight with Ioka. Ancajas is a solid champion but not a great one.
